It added that at least 990 Palestinians were killed and another 4,382 were injured by Israeli forces. While the report said Israeli forces made efforts to minimize civilian casualties, they often undertook targeted killings in civilian areas that resulted in innocent bystanders being killed.

By that standard we ought to cite ourselves for the Iraq war. Of course the point is that this report is BS.

No mention of Zimbabwe, of course. Guess that'd be too politically incorrect.

"Where human rights and freedoms flourish, terrorists and tyrants do not thrive and conflict and chaos do not reign," Secretary of State Colin Powell said Monday at the rollout of the report. Now speaking of Israel, the only democratic nation surrounded by muslim despots. According to this report, the palis are being suppressed by Israel yet the palis keep re-electing araRAT, one of the most depressing, tyrannical despots in the muslim world equal to Hussein. Queen Noor and her palestinian daughter-in-law who is now Queen of Jordan have made their desires to help the palis quite public. All they have to do is open Jordanian borders, the true Palestine, to the palis, absorb them into an all ready existing cultural and religious palestine state, and thereby putting araRAT and his many terrorist groups out of business. Let the world arrest and prosecute these thugs and murderers for crimes against humanity. Palestinian problem solved.

I guess the US is going to be on next year's shit list. While I oppose Israel's settlements policy (and despite your hopes, most of those outside the Jerusalem area are going to be abandoned in time), the rap here is a bad rap.

Israel? Can't be. We're puppets of the zionists. Pravda and Peter Arnett said so.

Oh, I see. So, when we obliterated a wedding party if about 100 people in Afghanistan --- that too was a human rights violation.

Or today, killing a few women and children that refused to stop --- are they not innocent bystanders.

Well, I guess, in Afghanistan and Iraq we are in a war zone, but Israel is, of course, not. Perhaps after today's killing of women and children, Sharon should call on Bush to exercise "restraint?"

Yeah, throw Israel in with the scum of the earth. How about telling the Pali's to stop "occupying" Isreali land. What about a little clarity here?

Israel?....toro caca...
this is pandering to the arab muslims again...imo
getting ready to force Israel to appease terrorists by cutting up her already diminished land and giving it to those who blow up their own children to kills others children..

If anyone is guilty of human rights abuse its the so called palestinians imo

"terrorism flourishes in free societies when it is tolerated and fostered"

The idea of blaming external forces for causing terrorism is to not hold people accountable for their actions and excuse them..it also is statist as it puts the onus on the state to take care of the problem by changing society...as if this will make the problem go away..

Terrorists kill because it is what they do...and what is in their nature to do..

They refuse to live in peace...they are envious and angry which is also in their nature and believe they have the right to steal kill and rape...this I know because the Koran tells me so..

Appeasment will not work...ask the Israelis instead of calling them human rights abusers
what will work...and then help them...had they not blown up that Iraqi nuke plant..and with Billy boy in the white house OK City wouldnt have been blown up with a fertilizer bomb or the WTC with a hijacked commerical air liner..
It is stupid to appease them what is needed is to hammer them imo

Wow. I don't recall "Palestinians" being a nation. Typical CNN bias.

After today's unfortunate events in Iraq concerning civilians, all the enemy has to do is copy this report and substitute US for Israel and they've got themselves a propaganda coup.

Way to go State Department. No wonder the French still love you.

I don't know why they are attacking Israel. I'm guessing so that the Arabs don't get up in arms, but what's the use. They'll complain about Israel and the US no matter what.

Shame on the State Department for condeming Israel. When I see Israelis getting blown up left and right I think that the State of Israel has every right to take out the terrorists that threaten their very survival. I don't see it as a human rights violation I see it as self-defense.

What a joke.

First the US State Dept releases a report on Human Rights where Saudi is not included. That's like releasing a report on World Communism in 1956 without mentioning the Soviet Union.

Talk about the influence of Saudi money.

Then they compare Israel to China and Saudi. Those Israeli gulags are something, aren[t they, as are those Israeli laws not allowing women to vote.

What a crock of BS.

Makes the USG look and sound idiotic. They lose credibility by putting out moronic items like this.
