In the first "live" interview with Geraldo after this story broke yesterday, he said on camera that the first he knew of it was when the [Fox] control room people told him about as they were getting his hookup feed readied for airing. He denied that any military personnel had said anything to him about his broadcast prior to his "live" air broadcast.

He has reported from IRAQ with the 101st twice this morning (TUESDAY)saying he was staying with them all the way to Baghdad. He also said Clinton was not a scumbag and there was treasure in Capone's vault, so I wouldn't put much stock in his personal opinion.
To: Leroy S. Mort
Geraldo did not get where he is by being nice, cooperative, and obedient. They may very well have tried to toss him out, but he likely talked them into letting him stay.
To: theFIRMbss
He is such a cheesy poser, but no ;-) I wouldn't want him to be shot.
He is just sooo-ooo-ooo-ooo cheesy.
To: Leroy S. Mort
So am I. Please get rid of him for good.
To: Leroy S. Mort
Send him to Damascus. That will be the next front anyways.

He was on Fox and Friends this morning saying he is still with the 101st.

The Liberal Media is going to keep this story alive until they think the uproar over Arnett has died down (Clintonista Tactic).

Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs Torie Clark said yesterday evening in a discussion broadcast on WMAL that this is a decision that should be left up to the local commanders. I also understood her to imply that her personal preference would be for Rivera to stay.

You know, maybe we should have a daily thread containing all the stuff we catch reporters in that looks like a security lapse. Then the news nets can spend their days ratting on each other instead of shilling for Saddamn.

I don't know the straight skinny, but this morning, Geraldo had a live report shown on FOX & Friends. He was joking about "reports of his demise being exaggerated". And...he was still with the 101st, still cocky, his report was right there with them, "live", and well after yesterday, when you could almost feel the joy as CNN's Paula Zahn and and MSNBC's Lester Holt informed their viewers that "the Pentagon had escorted Geraldo back to Kuwait.
Lester Holt showed the tape of Geraldo drawing maps in the sand and oh so seriously, said, "we've blurred the drawing so as not help the enemy". haha
I don't even like Geraldo, but I'm tickled silly that he's made silly fools of CNN and MSNBC. Even if he does get booted...he wasn't booted when they reported it as fact.
My daughter just called to say her local Atlanta radio described how Geraldo got there with the 101st in the first place. She said they reported, as the 101st was leaving Kuwait, Geraldo just jumped on a vehicle and went along for the ride, as if he was supposed to be there. Like him or not...that's ballsy!

In August 1944, Ernest Hemingway got to Paris before the U.S. Army did.

If Fox puts the importance of their reporter above the safety of our troops, they are no longer FAIR or BALANCED! Why not reassign Geraldo and replace him with an adult.

IF and when FOX news posts the transcript of his live-on-air reporting this morning, I will post them.
Get tired of repeating myself over and over again for those who don't wanna listen...

If I were NBC/PMSNBC I wouldn't get too cocky. They had a reporter playing in the sand a few days ago...

I turn to FOX first as a way to stick it in the eye of the libs, but they treat us like we'll get bored if someone spends more than 30 seconds developing a thought.
It was breath of calm air to turn to C-Span over the weekend and see a long interview of Mona Charen, and then to hear another long interview with the crew of a radar jamming plane.

How about a Geraldo/Saddam challenge? The demise of both of them has been widely speculated. Geraldo is shown on FoxNews at Baath HQ with today's Baghdad News and challenges Saddam to do the same on Al-Jeezer. That would be worth leaving him there.

I like FOX. I gave up on CBS and ABC years ago. I just gave up on NBC/MSNBC over this Peter Arnett BS. I just won't watch. I will watch, rarely, CNN. And get a lot of the rest of my news, the stuff I don't get from FOX, off the web. I'll keep watching FOX until they show me I can't trust them anymore. The stylistic stuff doesn't bug me.

A tag team match, perhaps, with Jessie Ventura doing play by play.

would anyone here be very upset if he caught a real bullet?
I'd be more upset if he CAUSED a soldier to catch a real bullet. His foolish sand-mapping made that scenario just a little more likely.
