SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco construction worker accused of making false threats to blow up the Golden Gate Bridge, the Ferry Building and an Amtrak station has surrendered to federal officials.
Timothy S. Sullivan used his cell phone to call 911 four times on March 10, saying that bombs would explode in the specified locations.
"My nail bomb at the Ferry Building will take care of the police," Sullivan allegedly told the operator.
The Ferry Building was evacuated because of the threats. A complaint filed in federal court in San Francisco charges that ferries were delayed and rerouted, though the spokesperson for the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District said the ferries operated on schedule.
Officials say that Sullivan later told agents from the FBI and the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service that he was drunk, and he was sorry.
He told authorities "it was the cheapest of cheap thrills," according to San Francisco FBI spokesperson LaRae Quy.
Sullivan, who surrendered Tuesday, could face a penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.

Hey, this is San Francisco. Maybe he only intended to blow landmarks.
The stupidty of the leftist anti war crowd is astounding
I'm surprised he got through. I saw a girl get hit by car in a crosswalk in SF and tried to use my cell phone to call 911. They would not answer. SF charges an extra monthy cell phone fee to support 911 service, but it's obvious the money doesn't go for that. SF tries to get their fee even if your home address is not SF. Socialism in action.
Looks as if it's gonna be mighty expensive.
Ping!
(If you would like to be added or removed from my SF Bay Area ping list, please let me know. FReepmail is best. Thanks.)
This must be another one of those "hold muh beer alerts." The moron is 53 years old! He is way behind the learning curve...
