I will be there with my sign which will read "Hey, Dixie Chicks, are you ashamed that our POWs are from Texas? and on the reverse side, Hey, Madonna, you used the wrong President in your video, Clinton is the one who likes cigars!
I do hope we get a nice turnout! The rally @ Miramar was good and the one down in fornt of the County Admin was great!

I am hoping that the local Iraqi-American communtiy will come out...there is a large community there in El Cajon.

"You gonna have food?"
I'm sure that vendors will be selling food or as we had at one rally a local restuarant supplied food and it was sold for a small donation!
Hope to see you there!!!!!

I'm off to get my signs made right now and I think I heard on Hedgecock that the local Iraqi contingent will bring about 200 people.

The rally was a huge success! Our local radio station held their show for about an hour and had our local political leaders speak in support of the troops. Our representative in Congress, Duncan Hunter called from Washington and they had a flyover of vintage war planes from a local historic group. There were also many Caldeons (sp?) and Kurds, I would say 200-300 of them throughout the rally. Many of them began marching up and down the street chanting "GO USA" and "Go Bush!" I had the chance to speak to an Iraqu who escaped from Iraq about tweleve years ago. He showed the scars on his forearms where it looked like they tried to cut off his hands. He offered to show me other scars but I didn't need to see any more. He told me that he lost one of his twin daughters (survivor is 14 years old) and all of his siblings! He was overjoyed that Iraq is now free This gave me a wonderful feeling to know that the work of out troops and our leaders has freed the long suffering of Iraq.
I marched around with my signs, was interviewed by a reporter but I don't expect that there will be extensive news coverage as our local media usually only gives brief attention to our rallies although I did notice a higher than average number of media types.
I was hoping to meet Mrs. Liberty but I didn't, perhaps next time. One of the best signs I saw was the Statue of Liberty flipping the bird and the words on the sign were "Hey, France!" That was a keeper. Many people liked my signs and I posed for a lot of photos.
Another group that has been present at all of the rallies have been the Vietnamese Federation of San Diego! They offer support and stand out in the sun with their banners, I held the sign up while one of the guys went a got some drinks for his buddy.
I left around 2p.m. as the crowd was starting to dispurse. I think that there were well over 1,000 people present but I'm not very good at judging crowd size.
I can't wait for the next rally and I also want to Freep the Dixie Chicks when they come to San Diego in July.
