Al-Douri, the first Iraqi official to concede defeat in the U.S.-led war, added that he didn't believe an occupied Iraq would permit him to work with "full freedom."Translation: "I can't subjugate folks with these pesky Americans in place..."

From the article:
With the fall of Baghdad on Wednesday, however, Al-Douri declared "the game is over" and acknowledged he had no relationship with Saddam Hussein.I think his exact words, or close to them were: "I have no relationship with Saddam." Then he went on to say that he has had no communication with Saddam for a while, etc.

Al-Douri said he was on his way to Paris, and then on to the Syrian capital, Damascus. Linking up with friends? Ba'ath Party reunion? Cloning Saddam's nose? (inspiration from Woody Allen).

Well then go home...
Thats one less UN oxygen thief here in the US breathing air real Americans need...

Shouldn't we be taking this guy into custody and questioning him as to the whereabouts of our POWs?

Iraqi Ambassador: I Can't Work in U.S. While It Kills My CountrymenTranslation:
I know that as soon as my government is decertified I'm a war criminal and would probably be arrested and hauled before a military tribunal in the US. My best bet is to hide in France/Iraq until a general amnesty is declared, then emerge and take my chances with the locals who probably won't realize who I was.
