No wonder public high school graduates can't read, write or find Chicago on a map. They have much more important things to concentrate on. And with this, you bring up an additional point I neglected to mention. Discussing these issues in school is a tremendous time suck. And what the blazes is "queer math"? Do they mean to suggest that gay students cannot learn math without reference to gay themes? Or that straight students cannot learn old fashioned tolerance and kindness while learning standard equations? This is silly, and even insulting.

I couldn't agree more, with everything you've said on this thread in fact.
That someone is gay, lesbian or any of the other complicated, narcissistic labels is none of my business and I'd like to keep it that way. It's not the homosexual thing. I also don't care to know that my "straight" next door neighbor enjoys erotic mechanical devises, silk ropes and bed posts.
None of this belongs in school. Keep it in the bedroom!
