Baloney. This has nothing to with the essential learning Teens need for success in this world, but everything with the leftwing homo agenda. Following your lack of logic, I am sure you would totally support for the following school functions:
- The Teen Pregnancy Club
- Teens for Meeting Old Men on the Internet
- The Drug Induded Day of Stupor
- Sheep Humpers Anonymous
- Teens for the Twig Barter System (Down with Capitalist Pigs)

Damn, what a fun scewl.

Geez, what a jerk.

In the interest of civility, I won't say what I think of you. However, you do know exactly how much respect I have for you. And everyone else living on government subsidies (and, yes, public school, paid for by the government, is a government subsidy to those who use it at the expense of everyone who doesn't. Don't believe me? Well how come everyone without children ,or whose children are in in private school, have to pay tax for those whose children are in public school? Just like any other welfare program.).

Well, your mother's may be a gerbil. If you support the Pink Agenda you are beneath contempt for most Americans.

I think it's high time we quit surrending to these vile forces. These students are fighting back and for that I give them alot of credit.

Yes they are. And it's good that they are. It's not their fault that they have to fight this fight though, it's their parents fault for putting them in that situation.

Homeschool if you wish, but if I'm paying the bill for the public school, I am certainly not going to just give in to the leftist crap and its enablers.

I don't homeschool; my daughter is in private religious school. I'm not in the upper, or even middle, income group: I just make serious sacrifices to educate my daughter. If I can do it, anyone can.

IMO, the leftist crap is enabled by those who willingly turn their children over to them. Pull all the decent kids out of school and see how quickly things change. Leave the kids there and see how quickly those kids adopt the leftist NEA values. Don't call them mush heads and such, these kids are very smart and have learned exactly what they, with their parents blessings, have been taught.

I do personally observe the DOS. If you wish to know more about it, I’m sure I could find a web page for you. I was pointing out that the students’ decision to observe such was personal and that such observance is constitutionally protected expression.

Actually, I was looking for your opinion on how gays are silenced. Generally you are not shy in sharing your opinion.

Shalom.

What's your point. Have the gub'mint schools stopped offering all those functions?

Shalom.

I have seen you post many times, and I know your penchant to use the letter of the word when it suits you, then look at the nuance of the word when that suits you better.

If the school allows activities by verious groups that support the homosexual agenda, week after week, year after year, then the children become steeped in an environment where acceptance of that agenda is considered "normal" and contradiction is considered "wierd." It is a subtle form of indoctrination and very, very effective.

This is why the ACLU gets so bent out of shape when someone wants to require "a moment of silence" for prayer. True, nobody is forced to pray. But everyone is sent the same message, prayer is something you should support.

Technically you are correct. Nobody is banging on the heads of these kids and saying, "Accept queers as normal, dammit!" But the result is the same.

The proper response to something like a DOS is, "This school is not interested in the sexual habits or preferences of its students and will not tolerate disruptive activities that discuss or promote same."

Shalom.

I don't homeschool; my daughter is in private religious school.

My eldest son attends a private religious high school as well, with much sacrifice to our family, but my youngest son is deaf and needs enhanced services(sign language interpretor and speech therapy) for his mainstreamed classes. This the religious schools are unable to provide him and he attends the public school for these services. I do make my conservatively valued voice heard at his school and do pull him from classes that I deem inappropriate for him (with mostly respectful but sometimes hysteric opposition to that decision). You cannot win the battle if you choose to disengage.

Every parent must make his/her own decision with prayerful consideration. We don't need such litmus tests for "true Christians."

That said, we don't send children into battle until they are at least 18.

Shalom.

Yours is a special situation. I've known a few people over the years whose children have had special needs that were only able to be provided by public schools (actually, my sister was a special education teacher till she retired) and they were able to use the public system for theose needs in conjunction with private and home schooling for the overall curriculum of eduction. I'm not sure if this would work for you, or if you can do this in your local school system, but it may be worth looking into.

Exactly. Children should learn religion is to be left at home and must never be practiced in any government building! It's the law! Except of course for Muslim children.

Me: You cannot win the battle if you choose to disengage.
You: Every parent must make his/her own decision with prayerful consideration.

I recently was told that our pastor, whom I deeply respect, is sending his children to the public high school when the time comes (after 8-10 years of Christian elementary school). I was somewhat surprised at this decision, but after reflection, realized that he is sending his kids out to be Christ's ambassadors. He often preaches how we as Christians, in fulfilling the great commission, are sometimes the only Christ that our friends and neighbors may ever see.

How does that saying go...evil flourishes when good men do nothing?!

There's another old saying: Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, use words.

Shalom.
