The article's very short, so I had to chop it up to conform to the LAT/WP agreement. You gotta read it; this guy is the new American Fisk. He's claiming these Iraqis were attacking him purely for being American.

I'm sure all right-thinking Iraqis were attacking him for being a Lost Angeles Times reporter.

He got stabbed in the buttock? Doesn't sound like he was putting up much of a valiant fight.

That yew, Forrest?
"Ah got stayubbed in tha butt-tocks, suh."
To: Timesink
Love it! Why didn't we think of stabbing the press in the buttocks!

Hmmm, scenes from an Airport trauma being told by a certain Downy fellow, sound familiar? (backwards Swaztika, semi-shaved head...I laughed my head off when I saw that one!)

He probably made the mistake of identifying himself as a writer for the LA Slimes.
The freed Iraqi had a moment of rage based on over two decades of the LA Slimes providing cover for the Mass Murderer Soddomite.
Actually his lover, probably stabbed him in the butt when he mentioned another guy's name in a Pit of Fashion, er Fit of Passion.

I get it now. You have to read carefully and between the lines. The point of the story is that they consider stabbing an
LA Times reporter in the butt a
bad thing.
Glad I was able to clear that up for everybody.
To: Timesink
Gosh, I was thinking this happened in LA!

He's claiming these Iraqis were attacking him purely for being American. Or maybe because he was an LA Times reporter. There was a woman reporter for the Times who was an activist journalist, she was willing to fabricate an event to have something to cover.
In Miami during the Elian situation she was busted for throwing rocks at the cops during a street protest (trying to cause a riot so she could cover the cops and antiCuban protestors fighting). She later was involved in that Church of the Nativity seige.
