Here is the
actual text of the agreement. It is an agreement between Israel and the PA. The U.S. only witnessed it. It prohibits ISRAEL from prosecuting Abbas -- not the U.S. government. See Article XVI, Paragraph 3. Nothing in it is binding on the U.S. government. Its all a bunch of wishful thinking by the Palestinians.

(It's the "Statue of Liberty" not the "Statue of Security.")

And italy didnt sign it either.
He should serve time in Italy, and then we can bring him here for conspiracy in the Achille Lauro case - kidnapping, terrorism, murder. JMHO.

Thanks for the link to the original agreement. It always seemed fishy to me that we made any promises in an agreement that was between the PLO and Israel, and of course we didn't.
What a surprise-The Palestinians are lying about the US being required to turn Abbas over.
What another surprise-the networks, being too lazy to fact-check anything said by an enemy of the US or Israel, reports the PLO claim as if it's true.
It really disgusts me that a person has to work so hard to get at the truth, when, especially in the Internet Age, it should be so freaking easy.

Thanks for posting the text. As you and others contend, it is clear this document has no bearing on the US or Italy prosecuting this terrorist. PLO/PLA: be gone.
