Since you are in a rural area, you might think of going to a broadband satellite connection. A freeper friend of mine did and loves it.

I would love to go to broadband -- but everyone I've called, including Earthlink, Dish Network, and many others, all tell me that nothing is available here but dialup. Any suggestions?
