OLIVER Stone's pro-Fidel Castro documentary has been bumped by the Tribeca Film Festival. HBO, which dropped "Comandante" from its fall schedule, asked the festival to pull the picture. A very different Cuban documentary, from the point of view of a dissident, will be shown instead. HBO controls the presentation rights to Stone's movie and cited concerns that it is "incomplete" given the current situation in Cuba. Meanwhile, Stone may be excluded from the 35th reunion his Yale classmate President Bush is having at the White House next month because the Bush-bashing director never graduated.

Why the heck didn't they consider it 'incomplete' when it was nothing but pro-communist propaganda before events overran their propaganda ploy? Mark my words, this will be released once the 30-second attention span of the public dissipates.

Page 6 is never politically correct, but I like this zinger: "the Bush-bashing director never graduated."
I wonder when the news media will start saying that about clinton, the famous Boy Wonder Rhodes Scholar?

HBO can't plead "incomplete because of recent events" and claim clean hands.
Nothing can hide the fact they chose Stone, of all people, to document his hero, "Commandante'"!

For all those people that think GWB is like his dad and willing to be diplomatic, take another read on who gets invited to the White HOuse...those who graduated from Yale!! President Bush knows how to win plenty of debates and games. Ask George Mitchell when he thinks he will get to be head of baseball.
All those repbulican Senators who are fighing him now might remember how many he helped elect in 02. He has a memory and they better get all their bills passed this year. Jim Jeffords, who dat?

And let it not be forgotten who recommended Jim Garrison's book "On the Trail of the Assassin", the basis for the movie "JFK" to old Ollie - none other than his buddy, Fidel.

(The only decent movie he ever made was "On Any Sunday")

Hmmm...interesting point. I did not know that (makes perfect sense, though).

Naw.
I heard they were involved in the Center Earth Group and the Bermuda Triangle.

Movie director Oliver Stone and Cuban President Fidel Castro are seen in this Feb. 21, 2002 file photo, after the shooting of a documentary in the author's Ernest Hemingway's preferred bar 'La terraza' in Cojimar near Havana, Cuba. On Thursday, April 17, 2003 Stone's documentary on Castro has been postponed indefinitely by HBO television, which had planned to broadcast the film next month. Governments and rights groups around the world have condemned Cuba in recent weeks for its crackdown on the opposition, followed by the executions last week of three men convicted of hijacking a ferry filled with passengers in a bid to get to the United States.
