Color me skeptical. I have a hard time believing that a significant percentage of male farm workers from heavily Catholic Mexico are engaging in risky homo-sex and/or intravaneous drug use. Lump this one in with: "The Myth of Heterosexual AIDS."

Heterosexual AIDS is quite a bit more prevalent along the border than it is in the rest of the US. For one visiting prostitutes and having affairs is much more part of that culture ---they don't need to be 1000 miles away from wives to do that. There are also different definitions of what being gay means, bisexuality is fairly common ----lots of transvestite prostitutes in towns like Juarez ---and they're all dying from AIDS.
