Abu Mazen Financed the Olympics Massacre in Munich
Israel National News ^ | 4/29/03

Abu Mazen is not as terrorism-free as might have been thought - and he is in fact connected with one of the 20th century's most infamous terrorist crimes: the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes - including American citizen David Berger - at the Olympic Games in Munich, Germany in 1972.

Mahmoud Abbas, known as Abu Mazen, long the treasurer of the PLO, was the man who provided financing for that attack, according to information compiled by Israeli attorney Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, director of the Shurat Hadin Israel Law Center.

Darshan-Leitner told Arutz-7 that PA sources themselves told her that it is ridiculous to claim that Abu Mazen was never involved in terrorism. In addition, Abu Daoud, who masterminded the Munich attack, has said that Abu Mazen provided the funds to carry it out. He made these charges in his autobiography, "Palestine: From Jerusalem to Munich" (published in French in 1999) and again in an interview last August in Sports Illustrated magazine. Abu Daoud called Abu Mazen "the financier of our operation" - though he later seemed to qualify this by saying that Abu Mazen did not know what the money was to be used for. Darshan-Leitner waved off this claim, saying, "Is it logical that the treasurer of Fatah did not know what was being done with the money he doled out? Everyone knew that Black September [the group that carried out the Munich massacre] was Fatah's front for terrorism!"

Darshan-Leitner has written to U.S. President Bush and German Chancellor Schroeder, calling for an investigation into Abu Mazen's role in the Munich Olympics attack. Bush praised Abu Mazen last week as "a man dedicated to peace," and indicated that he would soon invite him to the White House for talks. The lawyer's letter noted that Bush had said he would not conduct diplomacy with those tainted by terrorist pasts - but "it appears that the new Palestinian leader on which the United States and Israel are now pinning all their hopes, was also involved in murderous attacks perpetrated by the PLO's Black September."

Abu Daoud, in an interview about the Munich massacre for a film called "One Day in September," admitted that Black September was merely the cover name adopted by Fatah members when they wanted to carry out terrorist attacks. WorldNetDaily.com reports that the PLO terrorist murderer recalled how Arafat and Abu Mazen both wished him luck and kissed him when he set about organizing the Munich attack.

If the criteria for peace makers is that they have "clean hands" then there will NEVER be a chance for said peace.

Hard hitting journalism from... Sports Illustrated! Gotta love it.

Let's see if the NY Times gives this as much attention as it does to the Augusta National Golf Club.

I agree with Baredog about the clean hands not a requirement for peace.

I understand that Mazen has been outspoken against the intifada which is a good start.

The questions are:

1) Will Mazen have the power over security forces to inforce the peace or will he be able to obtain that authority.

2) Can the US manuver so that our position on the Road Map is to have Jerusalem part of Israel, so that we don't end up on the wrong side in the prophesised comming war.

Abu Mazen supports attacks on Jewish communities and any Jews in the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem.

What's more, Arafat still has control of much of the security bodies.

Target:

Abu Daoud.

Top commander of Black September. Organized the massacre of the Israeli athletes during Olympic games in Munich. Abu Daoud had a comsiderable help from the East Germans as well as from the Eustern European countries in his terrorist dealings.

While Abu Daoud felt safe behind the Iron Curtain, his enemies were prepared to go to any lengths to execute him. Late July 1981 found Abu Daoud staying at the upmarket Victoria Intercontinental Hotel in Warsaw, Poland, travelling on an Iraqi passport under the alias Tank Shakir Mahdi. Despite his various attempts to evade pursuers, a small team of assassins had tracked him to the Polish capital. They may even have simply waited for him to arrive in Warsaw, where he was a frequent visitor, and then tracked him to the Victoria, his favorite hotel in the city. On the evening of Saturday, August 1, 1981, Daoud was sitting in the hotel's busy Cafe Canaletto, wearing a khaki safari suit and sunglasses, waiting for a coffee and mineral water he had just ordered. A young Israeli or Middle Eastern man in his early twenties walked up to him, drew a pistol, and pumped five bullets into his body from a distance of no more than two yards.

"I'm going to assume Eretz Yisrael means something like Greater Israel or Original Israel or something like that."

I'm inclined to agree, but the problem is Israel invited the Arabs to stay when they captured the land. I don't know how you justify running them off the land after letting them stay on for 50 years. Unless you use support for terrorism to start bulldozing whole communities.

Something happens in the future that aligns all the nations of the earth against Israel and Jerusalem appears to be the focus of attention. I'm just hoping that somehow the US gets counted with Israel and not as part of the "all the nations".

Just think, in thirty years from now we can negotiate with that peace loving Osama bin Laden. The best way to obtain peace is through total military defeat of our enemies. Never trust a terroist.

Or, so far as that goes, don't even look like anyone who did.
