I know a girl that got a DUI for riding her horse while intoxicated. She had her vehicle license suspended for six months. She got nabbed by getting flippy with the McDonalds drive thru window.

If the horse was intoxicated, I could see that. But as long as the horse was sober, she was ok.

I never ride while intoxicated. I pay close attention to the trail, and only talk on my cell phone while at cattle crossings.

Some of the out-of-town residents here ride their horses to the local bar. They hitch the horses on the big (cement) porch, so nobody bumps them when parking vehicles. I'm sure its a violation of some kind of health law, but nobody around here gives a hoot. Besides, the horses know the way home, so if the riders have a snoot full they still get delivered home. (Is that drunk driving?)
