The ball is hiked, DeLay takes the ball, no wait, its a fake handoff, DeLay throws a nasty block, Bush heads for the endzone untouched. What a block!

Throw feces.

Throw a tantrum.

And get ignored.

That's the standard RAT posture for 2004, on any issue.

Well, the RATS still have the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals... they're legislating from there.

Thank the Lord, now the President can work on the little stuff like taxes, unemployment, and the war on terrorists.

One of these days, the Supremes will decide that they've had enough of the 9th, and forbid the 9th from issuing any rulings without a "mother-may-I" from the Supremes.

They did this in 1992, during the Robert Alton Harris farce.

Schumorlous and FineSwine will have their panties in a knot over this one. The fact is their is not enough support for extending the AWB in the Senate or the House.

Watch for democrats to try and sneak it into the Tax Cut Bill or some other legislation. I'm not sure if I was Tom Delay if I would have announced my plans this early, I would have waited for the Senate and if it was passed there, then announce that he would not schedule it for debate or even consideration at the last moment, that way these underhanded low life scum of the earth democrats couldn't pull the same old sh*t

I wonder where the glass is half empty crowd is now that Delay said the AWB will not be extended. The other night when the NYT's said it was all but a done deal that Bush is in favor of extending the Bill and will most likely help his good buddy Sen. Schumer see this through to his desk, HAD IT ALL WRONG.

But I'm sure they will be here to swear Bush "would have" signed it, right along with that 245i Bill that never reached his desk. They just don't get it. When will they stop believing the NYT's?

significant blow to the unconstitutional campaign to clamp down on gun sales nationwide.

The main stream press is full of idiots that would have us believe that the 2nd doesn't mean what it says. They have some company at the 9th Circuit..

LOL, I didn't look at it that way, You might have a point. One thing the RATS in the Senate can be sure of.... "The Hammer" isn't bluffing. The "toilet flushing" is the best thing that could ever happen to the AWB

Thanks for the input, I like your view better :-)

They also said Campaign Finance Reform would never come to a vote. This is not the same thing, but I wish the President had taken a more principled position on the matter. He has been the best President in history on the matter of the 2nd Amendent, and I don't see that it has hurt him. Quite the contrary, and I wish he'd stayed true to form on this.

I've always wanted a Heckler & Koch Model 91, with a flash suppresor and with a bayonet lug, and now I'll be able to get one.

I'll dedicate my first shots with it to Sarah Brady and Hillary Clinton :)

"AK-47 and 18 other types of semiautomatic weapons that were outlawed by Clinton and a Democratic-controlled Congress a decade ago would be legal again...
Talking about idiots... The NYT reporters don't even know which end of the gun is the muzzle let alone discussing about "assault weapon". It's absolutely bogus to claim fully automatic AK-47 rifle (already ban by National Firearms Act of 1934) will be available if letting "assault weapon" ban sunset is intellectual dishonest!!!

Oops... forgot, this article is from the NY Times. SIGH!

ding ding ding.

I will wait and see whether Bush pulls a "I expect an extension of the AW ban on my desk for me to sign ..." before I consider this a done deal.

It has been this kind of pressure applied by the administration that has broken the will of the Republican controlled house on a number of occasions.

We'll see. I like DeLay and I'd vote for him without a problem. I'm not worried about HIS vote.

Here's the problem though. The SINate Democraps are stopping the gun lawsuit ban. That could leave a bargaining chip open.

There's always a snake in the grass there somewhere. We just have to watch for it.

All gun laws, including the 1934 NFA, are unconstitutional; with each new gun law we take a step closer to tyranny, the destruction of the Constitution, and the end of the Republic. The enemies of freedom know this because it is their goal. Getting rid of the federal AW ban is much more than mere symbolism; it is a step towards freedom instead of away from it. Who are the enemies of freedom? Many are obvious, some are not. I watch who the most vocal, shrill, screechers are with respect to this law, and I make a mental note. Sadly, about half the US Senate fall into their ranks.
