Saturday, May 17th 4:00-8:00PM

Capitol Park, Augusta, Maine

On Armed Forces Day, May 17th, please join us in supporting all of our deployed military members. We are teaming up with many local organizations who are trying to show our men and women overseas that they have not been forgotten.

With all of the attention being focused on anti-war rallies, we thought it was just as important to focus some of our attention on supporting those who are away from their friends and family, fighting for the freedom of others.

The rally will take place in Capitol Park from 4:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. We are currently awaiting verification from keynote speakers and others who will make appearances for this event. After our speakers and other events, we will have a peaceful march around the Capitol area, and will end the evening with a candle lighting ceremony, honoring those who are deployed.

Please bring candles, banners and signs (tactful and peaceful) to carry. We will also have cards & banners for your signing, as well as opportunities to videotape messages for deployed military members.

This is a fantastic opportunity to show your support for our fighting men and women. Regardless of your opinion on the politics of these deployments, it is important to let those fighting know that they have our support.

Gee, had wanted to be there, but Domestic Management had, shall we say, "Alternative agendae".

Just getting over a bout of bronchitis too, so perhaps just as well.

You had great weather for it, anyway - hope all went well.
