THE New York Times has launched an internal investigation of some its most stylish scribes in the wake of the Jayson Blair catastrophe.

A source at the embattled paper says at least four of the Times' flashiest writers are being probed in the wake of the tidal wave of tips that have flooded e-mail boxes after the Times' Blair mea culpa last week.

Gosh, there is just so much to comment on here and most has been said before. I will limit my comment to: 'Elvis.' That's what the press nicknamed him. When was this?

It would be fine with me if so-called "Clinton sightings" became these incredible stories that everyone just smiled at, because they couldn't possibly be true.

Haiku.
Haiku verra much.

I've endured many an indignant moment since Bubba came on the scene...but linking that lying rapist to the King of Rock and Roll is the final straw!!!! ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

I think I am going to PUKE!

If you would like to make suggestions to them, HAVE AT IT...Cox Creative Center

I'm sure they are getting more than a little sick of my suggestions. Since most of them suggest that the Clintons GET LOST in D.C., New York, or anywhere as long as it is NOT Arkansas. There is just SO MUCH one state should have to endure. Arkansas has passed it's limit with the CLINTONS! GAG!!!

I can't WAIT for the "Bill" boards to go up!! They will probably have dirt and garbage thrown at them...maybe some bullet holes also.

Bush is out fighting terrorists and Democrats (more often the same thing).. His hero is Jesus Christ and Skippy keeps reminding us that ELVIS is Clinton's hero! YAHOO!

Meanwhile, Raines and metropolitan editor Gerald Boyd, both of whom were chummy with Blair, are being given the cold shoulder by some of their own staff. "No one knows what to say to Howell or Gerald anymore," says our source. "They walk by and people just kind of look at them funny. People always used to schmooze with them - in a sense, everyone tried to be Jayson Blair - but now the schmoozing game is over. There's no sucking up, no kissing a- -. They let them walk right by."

It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

Ha! I told you that disgruntled people in that news room would start to leak tidbits!

Now here is an interesting question: why do they have chemical mask training? Is this standard in the larger corporations of NYC?

Elvis Clinton will be in NYC this evening, hanging with his boyz:

Expect gridlock on W. 47th St. between 6 and 8 tonight. Bill Clinton is due to speak at a Supper Club fund-raiser for his presidential library. On the list for the $1,000-a-ticket party are Wyclef Jean, Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles ... NY Daily News

He's not only Elvis, he's Snoop.

He's due in Indianapolis tomorrow for the pre-race parties for the Indianapolis 500...he will be Mel Simon's guest.

Unfortunately, Michael Jackson, who was here for a deposition in a lawsuit, left abruptly after getting "sick" so that he couldn't do the deposition.

I am fed up with coverage of worthless weirdos.

Mel and Bren Simon's worship of this disgusting creature (x42) is one reason I don't patronize Simon shopping malls!

Speaking of lunatics, Michael Jackson's "sickness" to get out of the deposition seems somewhat orchestrated:

Jackson was in Indianapolis for a deposition in a copyright infringement and royalties case involving the Jackson Five, said Brian Oxman, the Jackson family's attorney. While the physician hasn't yet diagnosed Wednesday's illness, Oxman said the stress of depositions often makes the singer feel sick.

"He's gone through hundreds of them in his life," Oxman said. "When he has to go through them, it upsets him, bothers him, he doesn't sleep, he doesn't eat, he gets dehydrated, and these kinds of things happen as a result." No deposition was taken at all because Jackson became sick, he said. CNN

Just don't see the comparison....Elvis, for all his human flaws was still incredibly generous, humble, talented, and served in the armed forces...

The "Toon" seems to have done none of the above......

Apparently he wasn't so ill that he couldn't hop on his private jet and get out of town...per the Indianapolis paper this morning.

The Indianapolis paper also interviewed the downtown bums (aka homeless) who knew ALL about Jackson being there. You will be happy to know the bums were excited that President Bush was in town last week, but aren't too sure about Clinton coming. LOL!

The only similarity I see between Blubba and Elvis is the drug abuse.

"If somebody else goes down, then people think [top editor Howell Raines] is out. That's the prevailing wisdom around here."

Don't count on it. Howell has Pinch mesmerized by his zipper.

"No one knows what to say to Howell or Gerald anymore..."

How about, "How does it feel to be the two WORST editors in the history of journalism?"

Oh, please, let it be Frank Rich and The Dowder. Nobody deserves a slap-down more than these two.

...why do they have chemical mask training? Is this standard in the larger corporations of NYC?

The reason for the gas masks is the stench of death hovering over the Old Gray Lady.
