Were they fighting about the Cubs and White Sox rivalry? Please tell me--I gotta know!
To: Protagoras
This didn't happen in ChicagoThen, why would a Chicago Police spokesperson be quoted? Is that the norm? Just asking.

My apologies. I misread. He lives in South Holland, he murdered her in Chicago.

I really don't care if you believe I'm her friend or not.I have to admit that's nice, for a change. :D

The 2nd time was a mistake but thanks for your kind suggestion.

Often, when the system is slow, it takes a while for the post to go through, and one can mistakenly think one hasn't hit the "post" button. It has happened to me a lot, especially when I want to reply quickly.
I am sorry for your friend's death, and I hope the prosecutors can make the first-degree charge stick. How horrible, to leave her lying there for three days!
To: rabidralph
I'm sure you find your question amusing but I'm sure Julie's family doesn't.

Illinois is a "felony murder" state. Under the felony murder rule, a death resulting from a forcible felony (such as battery) can result in first-degree murder charges. No need to prove premeditation.

First-degree murder, a domestic fight resulting in death? More like third degree or manslaughter.

While I sincerely feel for the poor victim and her friends and family, you have to admit she hung out with some pretty unsavory characters.
