White house spokesman Ari Fleischer later clarified that Bush had intended to say contiguous rather than continuous. Secretary of State Colin Powell said that what was most important is that the state not be a series of South African-like Bantustans. The Palestinians must accept it as a state and feel free to move between its territories.

Well seeing how you cannot divide a square into four sections with an x, then make it so both opposite sides are connected as one contiguous piece for both sets of diagonal corners, that is impossible.
