Soccer has got to be the most boring "sport" ever invented.

Poor guy. Getting paid millions to play a game and live in Madrid-must be tough. (Banging head off of desk while surrounded by cubicle police).

Actually it's quite fascinating. Especially if you grew up with it.

The way I read the article was that 24.5 million pounds was the fee being paid to Manchester United and that Beckam's contract would be signed after all the guarantees were in order. Did I misinterpret it? If so, that is a big pile of cash.

I think you read it right. Manchester is getting the 24 million lbs. God only knows what Beckham will get.

Strange, seeing as how it's the world's most popular as well.

I can't possibly understand it. Opposible digits are what separates man from the lower species. Why have a sport that forbids using your hands???

Also, the 1-0 scores. Amazing. That almost makes baseball seem exciting. One guy kicks the ball back and forth to another guy for hours on end.

Although it was on the Simpsons, I've always subscribed to the theory that the reason why Soccer fans riot is because the game is so boring. Why else would they fight? There's nothing better to do.

If I heard correctly, Real Madrid are owned by an exclusive club of citizens. It's a very exclusive club. A member has to die before a new member is brought on board.

Nope. You've got it right. The title is wrong. The 24.5 million is the fee not Beckham's salary.
