I confess I am conflicted.

On the one hand, Ann p*sses off all the right people. There must bonus points awarded for leaving Diane Sawyer speechless.

On the other hand, there is something to be said for decorum. Hillary is a corrosive influence on the Republic because of her positions and her political behavior, not because she's...well, overweight or a fright to look at some mornings.

But such is the state of political discourse today.

The statement was ambiguous. I thought she was referring to either (1) 3 authors for Hillary vs. Ann alone or (2) the size of the books. I would think that Ann would avoid a personal attack based on physical appearance...

Cankles?

Cankles: the largeness of one's lower legs to the point where one cannot discern where the calf ends and the ankle begins.

Correct me if I am wrong, but did not Ms Sawyer ask Ann Coulter, sharp witted pundit by profession, about "sparring" with Clinton?
As I recall, Ann responded something to the effect of "she has a 3-1 (weight) advantage".
Now shallow libereral minds might fixate on physical weight, and sence a catfight, but those who admire AC for her sharp wit, probably picked up on the reference as intended.
A political pundit- against a former first lady, a sitting Senator, and an author whose work has been hyped for over a year by every known media outlet in a way normal authors could only dream of- is accused of sparring?
I see a 3-1 weight advantage.
The way the question was phrased left the Queen of one liners with an irresistable opening in a double entendre, and she took it, natuarally!
Poor little Ms Sawyer, and you, took it as a cheap shot, huh?
I dont consider myself brighter than the next light, and I only "get" about 1/2 of Dennis Miller's one liners, but even I caught Ann this time on multiple levels immediately.
Shame on Diane Sawyer,if she actually got flustered.
Perhaps she is too familiar with Hillary Rules, and forgot who she was interviewing.
Or, if you think Ms Sawyer is so great, perhaps not...
If one attempts a half-baked battle of wits with one who is a true expert in the field...
And we all knew any interview with Ann was a battle...
To put it nicely:
Diane Sawyer should not have attempted to turn an interview into a gunfight, armed only with a knife.
Has she ever interviewed Dennis Miller?

I'm thinking Ann Coulter was referring to the fact that all good democrats are being forced by Mrs. Clinton to buy 3 books rather than just one. Sort of like how they normally vote.

I experienced the SAME thing today! At Barnes and Noble, there was a BIG table right up front with Hitlery's book, marked at 30% off, and another big table next to it with the Harry Potter book. Had to go a few rows back, only to find Ann's book, on one small stand with maybe 10 books on it. Of course Ann's did not have the 30% discount.

I think the 3 pound comment was referring to the fact that Hillary's book out-weights Ann's by 3 pounds.
Obviously, Hillary is more than 3 pounds heavier than Coulter.

Ann Coulter got real close here bringing up this three to one weight advantage that Hillary has when it comes to books.

Maybe Ann was referring to axe handles.

It's a women, snide put down thing.

They do that better than anyone. Oh my!

It never ceases to amaze me just how mean women can be to one another.

Everyone is assuming that Ann was speaking of Hillary's weight in the literal sense. Perhaps what she really was referring to was the fact that the media et al had given Hillary such a fantastic advantage over her clamoring for interviews etc and was using this as a metaphor.

Interesting as Barnes and Noble's policy is to discount best sellers, and as I understand it, Ann's is already a best seller. Actually, they usually discount most of the new books.

What I noticed is that when I called Borders to reserve a copy, their computer showed that they had ordered only twelve copies. Hard to have a real bestseller if the large chains refuse to stock the book or make it difficult to find. And, no, it doesn't have a 30% off label on it, as Hillary's does. Does anyone think this is an accident?

It is no accident. Hillary is known by everyone in the country -- whether they love her (leftists), hate her (anti-leftists), or ignore her (most people). But everyone knows who she is. And she is controversial. So that means sales. Therefore, they are going to stock her books.

But Ann? Outside of FR, and the folks that watch Fox news, not very many people know about her. If you watch CNN and read the Chicago Tribune, you have never heard of her or heard anything she has ever said. If by some chance you had heard of her she would just be "one of those columnists". Ergo, the books stores are not going to assume she is going to be a big seller. Now, if a lot of people start ordering from a local bricks and mortar store, the store will probably start buying some. Otherwise, most of the sales will be online sales. Face it -- more people have heard of Dave Barry than Ann Coulter.
