it may be, but as the father of 3 teenage girls, i would second the advice. (i have also occasionally been a little suspicious of an adult woman's interest in one of my daughters, but women don't seem quite as dangerous.)

my 14 yr old daughter gets mad because we are involved in almost everything she does from the Young Marines to sports to grilling her on social activities.
When my daughter attends a party I walk her to the door to meet the parents and makes sure there's adult supervision.
We rarely let her sleep over anyone's house unless we know them EXTREMELY well-it's a very rare occurance. Most parents are way more lenient in what they allow their children than we are. I just see no reason to allow sleep overs although kids are always welcome at our house. Most of the parents don't know us from Adam yet they have no problem letting their daughters stay at our house. We know we're trustworthy but they don't. One girl came home on the bus with daughter and stayed the whole weekend because we couldn't reach her mom and Mom never called to make sure of where she was at. We didn't even know these people. Very nice girl but I couldn't believe her Mom basically left her with strangers for the weekend. Then on Sunday the older brother came to pick her up and honked for her from the street. I never cease to be amazed.
Of course, all that supervision still hasn't kept dear daughter completely out of trouble but we do the best we can :)
