What on earth would a 23 yr old be consulted about? No offense to 23 yr old's but, my gosh, consultants are usually paid for their years of experience in a given field.

Not really. The big consulting firms are largely staffed with recent college grads and recent MBA grads. They are working under the supervision of more experienced people, but the junior ones do all the real work. For holders of MBAs and comparable graduate degrees from top schools, $120,000 wouldn't be an unusual starting salary.

I don't what kind of graduate work/degree Chelsea holds, but she has an undergrad degree from Stanford, and some kind of graduate work at Oxford, so on paper she qualifies for the job and the salary IF her grades were very good. It's mighty doubtful that she qualifies in terms of technical knowledge (most young consulting firm employees have top notch concrete skills in either computer systems or finance, and some in commercial law), but presumably she makes up for it in terms of her ability to get rich and powerful people to cooperate with the firm.
