Where will you be on June 28th & 29th of 2003. We at Monmouth will be holding a little celebration commemorating the 225th anniversary of the Battle of Monmouth. We are hoping that about 10,000 of our closest friends will come out on that weekend to witness a spectacle of truly awesome proportions! Monmouth Battlefield State Park will host over 2,300 reenactors as they, the real stars of the day, will present a re-creation of the Longest Battle of the Revolutionary War. Reenactors, Sutlers, Musicians, etc., are being invited to participate in this historic event.
Plan your vacation around Monmouth 225th. Help support the Park and this great moment in History. As in years past, there will be activities all day long to keep even the most avid visitor busy. There will be: Cavalry demonstrations, Artillery demonstrations, Children's drill ( a huge favorite at Monmouth), Living History Programs, Musicians, Sutlers (trades people selling wares), and of course ......... The Reenactment. Similar programs will be presented both days, so come for the day or come for both. See you at Monmouth June 28 & June 29, 2003.
Tentative Schedule: This is a totally Free event, though donations to Monmouth Battlefield State Park can be made during the Event. Look for Molly's Well and pitch in to support Monmouth!

Visited this battlefield several years ago--well kept--tree lines & terrain still like it was during the original battle. The reenactment ought to be great--would really like to be there. Now if only I can persuade Frau von Schlieffen!

Wish I could make it. My ancestor fought in that battle and then married a local girl in Monmouth the week after the battle ended.
Let us all know how it goes, maybe post photos.
