Hepburn pushes Hillary to No. 2 (NY TImes Bestseller List)

Kate the Great has ended Hillary's reign.

"Kate Remembered," A. Scott Berg's account of his close friendship with Katharine Hepburn, will replace Sen. Hillary Clinton's "Living History" atop The New York Times best-seller list on Aug. 3.

Clinton's memoir will mark its fifth week at No. 1 this coming Sunday before dropping to No. 2.

The Aug. 3 list is based on sales last week, when "Kate Remembered" outsold "Living History" better than 2 to 1, according to Nielsen Bookscan, which tracks 70% of the retail market.

"Living History" has been a big hit for Clinton and Simon & Schuster, which has sold more than 1 million copies since the book debuted June 9.

New printings have raised the number in print to 1.6 million.

"Kate" also has run up fast sales since Putnam started with 530,000 copies on July 11.

Putnam senior vice president Marilyn Ducksworth said new press runs will hike the number in print to 770,000 by next week.

Berg, who's been doing interviews around the country, will make a second push - bookstore signings - in the fall.

Awaiting Siegal report

The New York Times may someday have to add two names to its masthead - not including the managing editor whom new executive editor Bill Keller has yet to choose.

A report due from a committee that's investigated the Jayson Blair reporting scandal and reviewed newsroom operations is expected to recommend the appointment of a career development editor and an ombudsman.

Sources said the ombudsman - typically a watchdog who also acts on readers' concerns - would have the recommended title of "public editor."

Though The Times has long resisted having an ombudsman, critics have argued that one would have been well positioned to find out how Blair went from error-prone reporter to serial fabricator.

Interest in having an editor oversee career development appears designed to get a better grip on how staffers advance in the ranks, plus how they are cultivated and evaluated.

The report of the committee, headed by assistant managing editor Allan Siegal, will be out next week.

Last I heard earlier this week Hitlery's book had sold 853,000 not over a million. Over a million have gone to bookstores, etc., but they all haven't sold yet, although I'm sure some foundation will happily buy the remainders.

We're doing our part for Hillary....every book store we go into that carries Hillary's book automatically gets turned around and replaced with front cover of Ann Coulter's book "Treason."....it's a thankless job, but somebody's got to do it...:)

Lest We Forget...

-Living History-

Scheduled for the afternoon of 9-11-01, the Attorney Generals office was supposed to supply evidence pertaining to the Clinton Pardons for review to Congress.

But, something got in the way early in the morning of September 11th, and this event forever distracted the procedings... in addition to killing Hillary Clinton's main media-foe, author Barbara Olsen in a plane that crashed into the Pentagon.

If not for the Hero's of Flight 93, the Capitol itself would have been dust as well.

In ONE HOUR, the Clinton's managed to avoid an investigation into the Pardons and also "lost" a major enemy.

Good for you! It's a rush, isn't it?

Seeing Ann Coulter's TREASON sitting atop
Hillary's "Lieing History" is so satisfying.

Let's hope that Judicial Watch's Flowers' lawsuit against
Hillary is successful in bringing Hillary down.

I'm so glad that the case is proceding!!!

Ann Coulter's Treason is by far and away the 'best seller' across the country. Only the New York Times keeps reporting the self-serving Living History (my foot!) as a best seller. The junior senator can take her place along side Baghdad Bob for factual history.......

They're both celebrity books, bought by people who hope to read dirt on other famous people.
