Judge for Yourself Are Senate Democrats determined to keep believers off the bench?
A study of the earliest federal judicial nominees reveals that they were expected to be of the highest character, display sober temperament, experience no incidents of moral turpitude, and profess a belief in God and the Bible. A federal judge's public display of faith was considered to be a mark of the highest ethical standards and an indication of fairness and concern for all who would seek justice in the courts.

This is a winning issue. If we play the diversity game Rats like to play, consider the five justices Schumer said he would accept--only two of them, 40%, are Christian. In a country which is over 80% Christian that list is, by the Rat's own criteria, evidence of Schumer's bias.

I read that Bush is getting ready to appoint Janice Brown a black female, called a "Clarence Thomas in a skirt" by a supporting conservative to the DC Court of Appeals (the same court Estrada is appointed to and where Scalia and Thomas served)

correct that, Bush HAS already appointed Brown. This dems have to be going crazy! Bush can run commercials of Estrada, Owen, and Brown and say the Dems are trying to block these qualified judges from having a vote. Make it a subminal race card play, just show their pictures!

Leahy (in C-Span rerun) is now hosting a show with religious leaders to show Americans how we should keep Church and State separate.

There's no lack of audacity by these people! They are also in the game for the long haul. In fact, their time horizons are so long, you have to wonder whether it is only human evil at play or if we are all not just characters in an ongoing divine comedy!
