French tourism suffers sharp decline
Fox News ^ | 7/29/2003 | Brit Hume, Fox News

Posted on 07/30/2003 9:07:25 AM PDT by George W. Bush

Hume: "The French government now admits that American anger over its opposition to the war in Iraq is eating away at its tourist industry. But the damage may be even worse than the government is willing to say. The French Ministry of Tourism says the number of American tourists fell by 30% in the first quarter of this year. But the president of the French travel agents union tells The Scotsman newspaper that the number of Americans visiting France has actually fallen by as much as 80% so far this year."

My own transcript from Tivo of Hume's reporting on his Grapevine segment yesterday.

This tourism decline was also mentioned during Fox & Friends this morning during the interview with Bill O'Reilly, a champion of the French boycott. E.D. cited that American airline ticket sales supported the 80% decline in American tourists going to France.

Hopefully, we'll get a better article on the dire straits of frog tourism in the next few days. I just thought it was such good news for us anti-froggers that it needed a thread now.

I'm laughing, recalling all those French government officials and their U.S. ambassador scolding and lecturing us on how we couldn't boycott them and how it would never work and couldn't possibly hurt them.

Payback is a bitch, frogs.

"American anger over its opposition to the war in Iraq "

There would have been little to no anger over a principled opposition. France was looking out for its own cozy deal with that mass murderer, was doing so duplicitously, and stabbed our Secy of State in the back. Now that will get us ticked off.

I guess that having the left wing Woody Allen as their spokesit, making fun of Americans didn't work to well.

If they used the old head whacker to take off ChIraq's head in a public display of atonement to America, we might consider reducing our boycotts.

Until then $crew the Frogs by not vacationing in a place where Americans are hated and boycott products made there or here by French Companies.

They still have a bit of "tourism" left: NORMANDY.

Let's go get our men now! Then we will not have to step foot on French soil EVER AGAIN. We would show better respect for our men by moving them to Arlington than by going to France to visit their graves.

Yep, Belgium = French Lite.

They are more of a pain in the A$$ than their French Buddies are with all the war crimes bs. They opposed the Iraqi War as much as France did.

Thanks. Don't know how I could have missed it.

FR's search engine is really broken. It can't find anything. That's why there are so many dupes these days. It used to work much better.
