Sam Donaldson: Watch Out for Hillary
NewsMax.com ^ | 8/07/03 | Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff

Posted on 08/07/2003 8:35:32 AM PDT by kattracks

ABC Newsman Sam Donaldson added his voice Thursday morning to the growing chorus of political observers who think Hillary Clinton might hijack the Democratic Party's presidential nomination next year.

"If [President Bush] looks very vulnerable in the next two or three months, I maintain that she'll come in," he told WABC Radio's Curtis Sliwa and Ron Kuby. "She will come in," Donaldson reiterated.

Referring to Sen. Clinton as "the big she," the veteran Washington wag said Hillary was too smart to pass up what could turn out to be her best chance at the presidential brass ring. "Smart politicians take their chances when they come. Never mind the game plan of 2008," he noted.

Echoing the analysis of top radio talker Rush Limbaugh and former top Clinton advisor Dick Morris, Donaldson said that Hillary can't afford to have another Democrat defeat Bush in 2004, forcing her to wait till 2012.

What about those rumors that former-Vice President Al Gore is getting ready to toss his hanging chads into the ring once again?

"He says no, he won't run. But anything is possible," Donaldson said. The former "This Week" host warned, however, that, Gore may be too dull to generate much enthusiasm for a rematch with Bush.

"You talk about an interesting person," he told the WABC hosts. "He's a serious person, but as we saw in the [2000 presidential] debates, not that interesting."

The ABC veteran predicted that the only way Gore would get into the race was if he was drafted.

Is Donaldson right about Hillary? Read "Hillary's Scheme" and find out what Sen. Clinton has been doing behind the scenes to prepare for her 2004 presidential campaign.

One thing Hillary can count on is the full support of the mainstream media, who will smooth out all the rough edges for her, will make any criticism of her seem petty and mean-spirited, and will lob her softballs during interviews.

I think the White house is trying to get her to commit to the race. I believe that the White house has evidence on WMD's either in Syria or Iraq and they are withholding the evidence until later this year. Of Course, they say they don't want to say anything until they can prove beyond a resonable doubt their initial suspicions. Whereas timing really doesn't work in investments, it does in politics. To release this info now will not give them the political gains for next November (voters have short memories).

They want her to jump thinking there are low approval numbers and he is vulerable then start dropping info like crazy. Including info on Hillary. This Denise Rich probe is only a start.

I am not a Bushbot. I voted for him in 2000, but is not assured of my vote in 2004.

However, he WILL be assured of my vote in 2004 if Hillary runs.
No matter what Bush does that I don't like, nothing will stop me from voting against Hillary. And the only way to effectively do that is to vote for Bush.

I can't think of any better way for the Republican base to be energized and unified than a Hillary candidacy.

If she runs, the dirt is gonna fly...Vince Foster, Rose Law records, the 'bimbo eruptions' squad, anti-semitism...and her burgeoning little political career is gonna end pretty fast without her being able to deflect the heat to Billbo.

"Sam Donaldson: Watch Out for Hillary"

She must be late for another flight.... note the security guard who has turned to smoke in her quest to avoid being delayed by the "little people."

Very, very true. I'm pretty ticked at Bush's policies on outsourcing and guaranteeing US investment in foreign countries. There are many reasons not to vote for 43, but if Hillary runs, Bozo the Clown (R) could run and I'd vote for him.

Hillary is getting uglier every day. And she knows it too. Whay do you think she had her bookcover airbrushed? She cannot wait to run in '08 or '12. Shell be far to ugly by then to be electable.

Wasn't it awfully interesting how Jay Leno just happened to say all the right things so that Hillary could get in her little reading joke? Could it have been rehearsed?

While she is the embodiment of evil and the Bride of the Understudy of the Anti-Christ, whsyt she is contemplating only makes political sense. The Rat hopefuls are a weak lot. Hilabat will let the 9 dwarves display thier hoplessness and then enter the lists late perhaps even on the edge of the convention so her minions can try and produce a stampede to 'draft' her ugliness. That way she can avoid being possibly made to appear less than immaculate in the primaries.

Even if she loses her name will have been kept before the country. She cannot be beated as badly as Mr. Magoo or Massachusetts Mike. If she is it will send her to the political oblivion file. If she loses but carries a respectable number of states she will be set up to run again in'08. Thanks to the miracle of plastic surgery she can be trimmed up and ready for another shot.

This strategy requires taking some chances and nerves of steel. Hilabat may be hard on the furniture (lamps especially) and her staff but she has the ability to be a risk taker (after all her ugliness slept with Bill, didn't she) and she does have the requisite power lust to steel her nerves.

Yeah....and the Bush / GOP election war chest for '04 promptly DOUBLES....

When asked recently about the current $175M....Dubya retorted:

Just watch me spend it.

Once you go down in a super nova, even the stupid rats of NY will not reelect you in 2006 because your power grab was so transparent

I think she was trying to immitate Barbara Olsen. Her book cover is very close to Barbara's picture on the back of Hell to Pay.

I have been predicting she would run for several years. If not 2004, then 2008.
