ATHENS, Greece -- One Olympic event won't make into the official program -- rounding up the hookers.
Authorities in Athens, Greece, are cracking down on the sex trade in advance of next summer's Olympic Games.
A 1999 law strictly regulates prostitution, but it was widely ignored until recently. The stepped-up enforcement has some women sleeping in the streets -- in protest.
They've been spending the night outside the Interior Ministry. The hookers say closing brothels will drive the sex trade into the streets, with an increase in crime.
Advocates of the crackdown contend the bordellos hurt Athens's image. But sex for pay won't be completely banned. Some government-regulated brothels will be allowed to stay in business.

heh... the goal of the event could be two-fold- 1. To see how many hookers each team can round up in one sweep. 2. To see how much money each team can extract from their 'workers'.

Yeah, I understand that the anti-American terrorists were complaining that the hookers had all the close in locations and their customers took all the good parking places. We know how concerned the Eurinals are about American security.

"They should just make it another event." Gallagher, the comedian (who is now amongst the many on the CA ballot) suggested precisely that many many years ago before the end of the Cold War.
He said it would be interesting to see what the East German women could come up with. "Hey, nice twisting dismount there..."
