Report: NCAA Suspends Clarett
Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett has received a multiple-game suspension from the NCAA, Columbus' WBNS-TV is reporting. The Columbus Dispatch reports he could be out for six or more games.

Academic fraud (allegedly got grades changed by a professor), as well as a fraudulent claim on a police report.
What a mess.

It's a shame this incident will cast aspersions on the program while they're defending the National Championship. Hopefully Tressel will act quickly and defuse the situation for the good of OSU and the BigTen.

This aint over by a long-shot.
The former teacher told the NCAA grades had been changed by someone over her. There will be a full investigation. IMO, Clarrett will not play again. He will be sitting in his couch playing Madden2004 or be in Canada this coming season.

Facing multi-game suspension (no official number yet).
They have not decided whether or not to appeal it.
The meeting was only between the OSU officials, Clarrette and his legal counsel. The NCAA was not represented there.

Uh ... Lincoln would be the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Huskies are University of Washington.

Get it right, it was not a former teacher. It was a teachers assistant that made the claims, she has since been discovered to have been disgruntled about one or more things and is reportedly no longer at OSU.
