I'm afraid that the battle is already lost because of the dishonest characterization of these rifles as "assault weapons." The soccer moms hear that and they think "Oh, they must be bad."

Yep, because the media frenzy caused normal thinking people into believing a military "style" looking weapon was more dangerous than a simple looking hunting rifle. Hope this bill dies before it ever reaches the Prez.
