You also have some new requirements to pass a written handgun safety certificate test, pay a fee for that test, pay a fee for the NICS check and prove you are a resident with a recent utility bill. You also have to purchase a California DOJ approved locking device for your new handgun and/or prove that you own a California DOJ approved safe.
