Good point Hugin. Some also seem to think being pro-Brady Bill has meaning in California.

But the Brady Bill calls for a 5 day waiting period.

California's had a 15 day waiting period since 1976.

Are you sure that's not local ordinance somewhere? Everything I've purchsed in the SF Bay Area in the last 3 years has been a 10 day waiting period (which is still 10 days too long).

wrong. It is a 10 day wait following the successful NICS check. Handgun purchases are limited to one in a 30 day period. No limit on long gun purchases. You also have some new requirements to pass a written handgun safety certificate test, pay a fee for that test, pay a fee for the NICS check and prove you are a resident with a recent utility bill. You also have to purchase a California DOJ approved locking device for your new handgun and/or prove that you own a California DOJ approved safe.
