Bush feels this is going to be a tight race in 2004, and is asking for grass roots efforts and donations. Do what you can folks. We could use another landslide everywhere like the senate elections. That was a riot! What a glorious night to remember that was!

I've been saying for a month now that GWB43 will obliterate Dean by at least 55% of the vote. PLUS, the ACLU has proved themselves to be a strong arm of the left, and 77% of the American people are siding with Christians on freedom of religious expression.
The Democrats just keep digging that hole deeper and deeper, don't they?

Reagan won a landslide with only a 49% approval rating.
If Bush can stay above 55% then he could win with nearly 60% of the vote.

The only hold outs are the constant left wing 30%+ extremists that show up on every poll and hate everything. See #3.

Yes - the only problem is that the GOP is having some problem's recruiting senate candidates.
If we don't start to turn this trend around, we could only pick up +5 seats, when we really have a shot at +9 seat pick up in the Senate.

" In the Newsweek poll it showed that only "44% of people would reelect Bush against an unnamed opponent"
Tonight on Hardball,Howard Fineman was at a loss to explain Bush's jump in approval,so he danced around and said that perhaps last week's Newsweek poll, was "over interpreted ". So, the new standard for Liberal Poll Reading-a crummy poll is absolute, unless and until the next poll shows improvement,at which time the former poll will be labeled as crap, to invalidate the jump in ratings.
To: Pubbie
This poll shows that 51% would vote for Bush and only 39% for an unnamed Democrat. And the numbers for Bush (as for any popular incumbent president) go way up when he is compared to an actual potential challenger instead of "Random Democrat." All the people that say "Yeah, I'd probably vote for a Democrat" because they're mad that Bush went against them on some pet political issue, come scurrying right back when they're asked something like, "Well, what if it were Bush vs. Dean?" "Howard Dean? Holy crap, that nutcase? Bush forever, man!"
Barring a nationwide financial meltdown, a Watergate-level scandal or something truly horrific happening in Iraq, this election is Bush's to lose, and always will be.

If we don't start to turn this trend around, we could only pick up +5 seats, when we really have a shot at +9 seat pick up in the Senate. If Dean gets the nomination, we'll probably be guaranteed a +7 pickup no matter what, due to the reverse coattails effect. So we'll only have to find two good candidates for the more iffy seats, and then we'll have a filibuster-proof (and RINO-proof) majority.

One of the "Gallup" guys was on CNN talking about the poll results yesterday, and by and large focused on the negatives, saying that the American people realize the war "isn't going well", and the poll numbers reflect that. In fact, that is NOT the case. A majority support Bush's efforts.
To: nwrep
Looks like he's averaging about 60. This is right in that ballpark.

If you go and see a poll on Ronald Reagan at this time in his first term you will find out that he had an approval rating around 40%, and a disapproval of 45% if my memory serves me well.
The Democrats have pulled out every attack tactic they could in a time of war and they still can't bring down this President. I have watched the "Nine Nattering Nabobs" for the last month and I have yet to see one of them offer anything in a way of change.... Just non-stop attacks on a President who has had more on his plate than any other President in recent history.
For this President to remain this high in the polls when there is nine democrats trashing him on a daily basis, must be quite frustrating for them. Howard dean must be causing quite a stir among these dunder heads, because I listened to John Kerry say that "Howard Dean's plan of reversing all of George W. Bush's Tax cuts would be a disaster". Kerry then said "A family of 4 earning $40,000 a year would see a increase in their taxes of $2,000 a year if George W. Bush's tax cuts were repealed"
The above statement by John Kerry is proof that George W. Bush's tax cuts benifit's the middle class, unlike what the democrats have been crying about for 2 1/2 years.

Those 40% polls usually ask "Definately vote for" and then "will consider someone else" which gets 21-25%. These are just voters that get polled and want to think they are pragmatic and answer "will consider" to show how independent they are.
If you continue down those same polls to the Bush vs. Kerry or Bush vs. Dean, a named candidate, Bush wins 55% or more.
