Yesterday in South Carolina, he talked about a Baptist revival and made it sound like a snobbish dig. This gives a bit of detail about the infamous "Baptist" comment (but not nearly enough).

I'm sure it will help him a lot in South Carolina. No Baptists there to take offense, right?
To: maryz; A Citizen Reporter
Somehow the new media dont approach him the way Tom Winships bow-tied Bumkissers always did . . . on bended knee. Yesterday, during his narcoleptic speech, Fox News kept funning fun facts about him at the bottom of the screen: Votes with Ted Kennedy 96 Percent of the time . . . Kerry is Fluent in French . . . Fox Poll: 34 Percent Have Never Heard of Kerry . . . . Bwahahaha! I saw that yesterday, thanks to being alerted by A Citizen Reporter.
More fun facts I saw: "Voted against the 1991 Gulf War...Voted against the B-1 Bomber....Voted against Robert Bork..."
It was hilarious! Worth every dime of my Direct TV bill!

"John Kerry...A captive of Big Ketchup"!...
"John Kerry...Mike Dukakis lieutenant governor"!...
Sounds like a few great campaign slogans to me!

I saw a clip or two of his SC speech. Was it just me, or does Kerry have trouble taking a deep breath ?

Sounds like a few great campaign slogans to me! Howie's good at suggesting campaign slogans -- in fact, maybe Kerry could use one Howie suggested for some local pol years ago -- "Never been indicted!" (In Mass. that counts for something.)

I remember it, but I am not sure if I am accurate. It was made in reference to his "surprise" visitor, a former shipmate who is now a minister (and just happened to have specific politically correct prayer all typed up to read). It was something about turning this into a Baptist revival or something like that. I did think it sounded rather condescending.

I'm not sure he breathes at all. Every time I look at him I think of "The Night of the Living Dead."

$750 million...
That's enough !

Basically Kerry not only has an awful campaign strategy (appeasing the pro-Dean nut fringe won't work), but his public persona is likewise terrible. He should at least try to fake sincerity and take some courses in smiling and looking presidential. He has the look of a smug, pompous, mendacious twit (which he is), and acts like he should just be acclaimed president by virtue of WHO HE IS.

I sure do miss Howie. I used to be able to pick him up on an A.M. station. They changed their format to "The Music of Your Life" Blah.

Can you get Howie over the internet at howiecarr.org? I listen to him on WRKO, and he has mentioned that people have trouble getting him on the internet, but that it can be done. They are supposedly trying to clear up the technical difficulties, but . . .

I've tried to listen on the internet(months ago) but it would break up every few seconds, making it unbearable to listen to. But since you say they are trying to clear it up I'll have to give it another try today! Thanks!
