I hope you don't find yourself unemployed but, if you do, it sure looks like you've got that problem covered.
In any case, I wish you the best in your endeavors.

Wow, it seems like everybody on this thread has a Belzoni connection!!
My maternal grandfather spent most of his childhood and teenage years there (during the 1920s and 30s). His father owned a grocery store in downtown Belzoni before he died.

On some thread on some occasion(this one or a later thread), I want to hear your unvarnished opinion Re: the Jackson Police Department. I bet you have a good bit to say about it.
Today, a lady I know who is a Hinds Co. sherriff's deputy told me never to call JPD, but to call the Sherriff if I ever got into trouble in Hinds Co. Fortunately for me, I live in Madison Co. so I don't think I'll ever have to take her advice.

The old sherrif in Madison used to be an easy fellow to work with if you had connections. I know some folks out on Lake Cavalier busted quite hard in the late 70s and "they worked it out" between friends.

The new sheriff in Madison Co. is the son of one of my dad's best friends. Never a bad thing.

I was in boot camp with a kid from Isola. It seemed like every intructor or aid de camp would ask where he was from. They all made sport of that. I told him just say Humphreys County anything but Isola.

I recall a boy from Belzoni in about 1970 or 1971 named
Mike Grant who was either a deputy or auxillary police
whose Dad committed suicide. Seems he shot himself in
the head six times with a bolt action single shot .22
rifle. Do you recall that case?
To: Just_de_facts
I knew a boy Mike Grant there and will leave it at that. Don't recall the ' accidential death' with the 22. Rough town and when I say rough I mean rough (was, don't know what it is now).

I left the area in 78 and can't tell you what it is like now. I always had a good working relationiship with them when I was in the area.
My best friend was from Madison, the best man I have ever known, Jimmy Dukes. He was once Chief in Clinton and then the director of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Jimmy has gone to be with the Lord now is is truly missed.

Do you happen to know a Charles Richard Hyde?
