I agree SSN558, but mainly because Congress will NOT put a bill to stop the "sunset" of the AWB on President Bush's desk for consideration. Bush said he would sign one IF Congress sent him one. And that is HIGHLY unlikely.
I'd forgotten what a total PR*CK Metzenbaum was...someone have a pic of the jerk to help me remember?

We all thought X42 escaping jail after the impeachment trial was "highly unlikely" as well. Nothing the Democrats stupe to can suprise me now. Their depravity knows no depths.
This does not give the GOP a pass to become more like them.

The AWB bill is dead. There is many Representatives who remember how bad it was for anti-gun legislators in 94. The current AWB expires 30 September, 04, one month and a few days prior to the November 04 election. I doubt the H of R wants to incur the wrath of gun owners a month prior to the election, they know the NRA and other pro-gun groups are watching them very closely.
