Homosexuality was diagnosed and treated as a psychiatric illness -- abnormal behavior -- until 1973, when it was removed from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual in psychiatry because of political pressure.

The classificarion of homosexuality is not a religious phenomenon. Even arheistic psychology and psychiatry recognized homosexuality as a serious mental disorder 40 years ago. The removal of homosexuality from serious diagnostic categories should never have been done. I do not recognize the validity of the deletion.

Jung spoke of homosexuality as a kind of sociological disorder, as being ther result of a confusion of sexual roles Such confusions is more frequent in an industrial society and Jung saw eveidence of its in every urban society as opposed to a rural society.

That's not the only disasterous thing that happened in 1973- Roe v. Wade came along then as well. What a year.
