This madness came to my town. In a theater of 150, the theater owners (oh, so much more hip than we poor rubes) whined that they had to spend "$5000" to provide security for the performance.

The fact that they could pay $5000 for security for a theater of 120 should tell you that a) they lied about the cost, or b) somebody outside of that tiny theater was footing the bill to bring a show that was offensive to Christians into my town.

I shouldn't have to make all the regular arguments, but one always stands out...if this play ridiculed blacks, or Jews, or Muslims, or the poor, or the fat, or homosexuals, or the transgendered, or the bisexual, or one-legged color-blind penguins, some protest group would bitch, and it would have been called off. This play ridiculed Christ and Christians, so the "arts community" blathered on about freedom of speech. Nobody cares if they offend us. We are going to "tolerance" ourselves straight to Hell in this country.

You are completely correct. I think that part of the reason for the discrepancy in how these groups are treated is that those groups always put up a fight against garbage like this, while we usually just ignore it and let it grow more bold. However, this Christian plans to make his stand in street, not in the coliseum.

This play ridiculed Christ...

Would that was all it did. It's single-minded, intentional blasphemy.

Did the show sell out in your town or are there more people like you?

Start a rumor that it portrays Mohammed somehow.
