Clark Worked For Ark. Data Firm
Acxiom Role Part of Surveillance Debate

By Robert O'Harrow Jr.
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, September 27, 2003; Page A08

Retired Gen. Wesley K. Clark helped an Arkansas information company win a contract to assist development of an airline passenger screening system, one of the largest surveillance programs ever devised by the government.

Starting just after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, Clark sought out dozens of government and industry officials on behalf of Acxiom Corp., a data powerhouse that maintains names, addresses and a wide array of personal details about nearly every adult in the United States and their households, according to interviews and documents.

Clark, a Democrat who declared himself a presidential candidate 10 days ago, joined Acxiom's board of directors in December 2001. He earned $300,000 from Acxiom last year and was set to receive $150,000, plus potential commissions, this year, according to financial disclosure records. He owns several thousand shares of Acxiom stock worth more than $67,000.

Clark's consulting role at Acxiom puts him near the center of a national debate over expanded government authority to use personal data and surveillance technology to fight the war on terrorism and protect homeland security.

In addition to the obvious Schadenfreude this raises (it's always fun to see the RATS' tactics be used against them), I'll point out that this helps prove my theory about the "mainstream" media: That the only thing that matters to them more than helping the Democrats is a chance to take down a presidential candidate, and possibly win a Pulitzer in the process.

My column this week deals in large measure with Wesley Clark. As I said in posting it three days early, I'd better get it out "before the Clark-fir-President-boomlet collapses." Today I saw the clip of the "good General" praising Bush, Rice, Rumsfeld, etc., in his speech in Little Rock. Now, you post this article.

It sorta looks like Clark is going to sink like a brick in a well. I'm glad I could provide a proper campaign song for him, on his way down. Click below.

Latest column, "Democrats Dancing to Tunes of Glory?," discussion thread on FR. Article will likely be on ChronWatch.

Somebody listening to us?

It was certain to come up at some point. The JetBlue scandal conveniently accelerated the timetable.

Good article indeed!

I think that Acxiom gives the Clintonistas the chance to
continue digging up dirt on their enemies while they are
out if the 'fbi loop'.

And I believe the Clinton's "ROLLOUT" of Wesley Clark last
week was a dryrun/dress-rehearsal by the Clinton machinery
for Hillary's soon-to-follow announcement.

The 2004 ticket will be Clinton/Clark.

I'm concerned the witch will fly to L.A. in about 7 days to
make her announcement there and rally the soccer moms
for Grey Davis.

mainstream - that area of any endeavor, sanctified by officialdom, as to the right and approved knowledge for that activity. Note, that as with the flowing waters supporting the word/phrase, there is very little originality of consequence arising from the main/middle of the stream. It is on the banks/fringe of the river where friction/conflict/abrasion create currents and eddys and interesting conditions that newness manifests.

What's more is that he worked for Stephens, Inc. - the same Little Rock company with a long history with the Clintons and Riady.

Ever see the website Clark founded after he retired www.leadershipforamerica.org? You won't see it at all unless you dig into this link of google cached webpages. You see, it has just conveniently been decommissioned as of the 23rd of September 2003.

Roger your whole threat matrix:

Clintons now use Acxiom in lieu of FBI for opp research.

The Wesley Clark debut is dress rehearsal for Hitlery!

Hitlery! to be Queen; Weasel to be enforcer (a la Waco, Kosovo, dead women, dead children, we destroyed the village to save it, etc.)

Hitlery! to announce in LA in 7 days--take back CA for the Demunists.

Pinging ALOHA RONNIE

No way Clark gets on ANY ticket with this--he's a scum-sucking mercenary lobbyist!

Dean will fizzle too late for Hillary to get in. Bet on Gephardt.
