RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) -- Yasser Arafat installed an eight-member emergency Cabinet on Sunday with Ahmed Qureia as prime minister, an apparent attempt to deflect possible Israeli action against him following a suicide bombing a day earlier.

Israel threatened last month to "remove" Arafat, without setting a time, and there were new demands for his expulsion after Saturday's attack by Islamic Jihad. Nineteen Israelis were killed in a crowded beachfront restaurant in the northern port city of Haifa.

I guess I've been around here for about 6 years or so now. Time sure flies!

When Jim Robinson started this site, it was because he was fed up with the liberal media, and how they would not let people worldwide know about the corruption of the Clinton Administration. A few of us, equally concerned, (with great luck) found it fast.

In the early days, FR was a day-to-day operation, always on the brink of bankruptcy. Jim kept on, and we chipped in when it became too much. We knew how important this site was, and is. Sometimes, it came down to the wire, and we wrote checks, and sent them in, as best we could.

Look at it now. We all get our best information from this site. It is huge, with thousands of posters, and millions of readers. Yet Jim still keeps it alive because of his conviction, and he is absolutely NOT making a profit on it. He just believes. As do we.

BTW, did you know that the founder of this site is in a wheelchair (sorry Jim; I know you think it doesn't make a r*ts a$$ difference. Hey, some folks out there need to come down a peg, like I have.).

Think of it! In the darkest days of the Clinton Administration, there was a lone internet site where people with integrity, brains, and sheer gumption could discuss the dangers faced by the US. Not on CNN, for sure.

Earthmovers like Drudge, Ann Coulter, Rush, WFBuckley, his brother, Savage, Buchanan, both houses of Congress (many) check in to see what we think.

The opposition checks it out, too. Like the NY times staff, CNN, AFL-CIO, China, etc. Trust me, they all come here to read. Even YOUR post. You know by now how they are whining about Rush? We're next, as soon as they figure out how they can trash this site without it getting a million hits.

Nobody can or will stop Israel from building a security wall and taking the battle to the enemy. The voices against these policies are faint. Evil does not listen to words of reason. Evil listens to force. Brute force.

I think it might be better to arrest him, charge him with conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism, put him on trial in a military tribunal, and sentence him to life in solitary confinement in a new, secret facility, without possibility of parole.

Then prohibit visits from anyone except guards, a chaplain, and a doctor, to meet bare minimum humanitarian rules. Also allow occasional video conferences with a representative of the Red Cross or some other such body, but do not allow any such visitor to be a lawyer, diplomat, or elected representative at any level. Set ground rules for what can be communicated at such conferences, monitor them closely, and immediately terminate it if the rules are broken by either party. After all, security is important.

Put him under 24 x 7 video surveillance in order to be able to prove that no abuse is occurring, provide appropriate medical treatment, water, and the same, boring food every day. And then let him rot, like Rudolph Hess in Spandau. But Hess might have been a better human being than Arafat.

Believe me, I want him as dead as you do, but I don't want to make him a martyr, which would just give his co-conspirators a new way to use him as a mouthpiece. He can't be physically tortured, but maybe staring at the wall for the rest of his life would give him an opportunuty to reflect in solitude on his sins.

P.S. Did I mention "no air conditioning"?
