[history]
You are not going to watch the Democratic presidential candidates debate on TV tonight. I know it. You know it. They know it. You wouldn't watch if they all changed their names to "Pudge," put black grease under their eyes, then spit tobacco juice on the floor after each question. Or do they do that already? It doesn't matter. They are visiting our city, and, as good hosts and good Americans, we have a patriotic duty to fake interest. At least until the ballgame starts. Or the pregame show. Or the beer commercials before the pregame show.

GO YANKS! (The only acceptable outcome other than the Yanks winning would be to see the BoSox and Cubs in the World Serious, just because America likes underdogs)

Agreed. But only if Boston invents a unique an gut-wrenching new scenario for blowing it.

Replace Yanks with Braves and I said the same thing last week.
Cubs vrs. Red Sox = killer series.

only if Boston invents a unique an gut-wrenching new scenario for blowing it. They won't let us down. remember their motto: Wait until next year.

I would rather ride a turd float from the Gulf of Mexico to Panama then watch a Democrat debate...holy crap!

You forgot Pudge Gephardt's special ability to call up imaginary friends to help him out. :)

Incidently, did any of you other than 4EOTR and (possibly) my new friend dead even read the article? It's not really about baseball.
Note: I sent this post to myself as well...

The won't blow it this year, this team has a different "vibe". Yeah, I sound like a hippie, but they're winning it all this year, I swear! BTW, I'm completely unbiased.

And their bench is fairly thin, too, particularly since Florida Sen. Phil "Pudge" Graham suffered a severe strain to the campaign wallet. Who's this Florida senator Phil Graham he's talking about?

Of course I read the article. And I am aware it is not about baseball. That being said I have but one comment.
Go Cubbies!
