The Anglican Mission in America

719-650-1706

jay@anglicanmissioninamerica.org

“The consecration today of Gene Robinson represents the latest, and most egregious example to date, of the crisis of faith and leadership in the Episcopal Church USA—a crisis that prompted the formation of the Anglican Mission in America three years ago.

The crisis of faith is clearly reflected in the confusion over the clear teaching of Scripture regarding matters of human sexuality. That there is a crisis of leadership may be seen in the election and appointment of a candidate that does not qualify for church office according to the Holy Scriptures and the universal consensus of Christianity for two thousand years. The refusal of the Episcopal Church to repent of its direction, culminating in this consecration, has generated clear global opposition throughout the Anglican Communion and among other groups within Christendom. These actions will now result in the re-alignment of the Anglican Communion that has, in fact, already begun.

The Anglican Mission echoes the statement of our sponsoring Province of Rwanda, which declared following the convention that paved the way for this consecration: “We denounce the actions of the Episcopal Church USA, we declare that the Episcopal Church USA has departed from the doctrine, discipline and worship of Christ as the Church has received them. We declare that by these actions the Episcopal Church USA has placed itself out of communion with other members of the worldwide Anglican Communion.”

Many other voices have agreed, with the Anglican Province of South East Asia urging the Episcopal Church to “honourably exclude itself from continuing in sacramental communion with the rest of the Communion.”

The consecration of Gene Robinson serves only to underscore the depth of crisis in the Episcopal Church. This tragic event will only strengthen the resolve of the Anglican Mission in America to reach out in Jesus’ Name with the Gospel of hope and transformation to the 130 million un-churched people in this country.

On this celebration of All Saints’ Day, we call on all orthodox and faithful believers to remember the sacrifices of those who walked this journey before us, and to give thought to those who will follow, that our own actions would not place in jeopardy the faithful transmission of the ‘faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.’”

The Anglican Mission in America is a rapidly growing missionary outreach of the Province of Rwanda. Numbering well over 60 churches, emerging congregations and church start-ups with a total of 12,000 members, it exists to glorify God by building an alliance of congregations committed to gathering, planting and serving dynamic churches in the Anglican tradition.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 2, 2003 (All Souls Day)

From Forward in Faith/North America

The loving God revealed to us in Holy Scripture is adored and worshipped by the Christian Church in thanksgiving for His message and divine initiative for the world's salvation, healing, and wholeness. Today, He is mocked by people whose intent is the creation of a new religion. A religion not based on divine revelation, but on the human desire to fashion God in their own image.

A once honored and respected church that claimed to be both reformed and Catholic has today ritually formalized its identity as an eccentric religious sect. This sect is based upon the spirit of the age and a willfulness to abandon and dismiss its foundational doctrine and moral teaching. Therefore, those who affirm and celebrate the episcopal ministry of Gene Robinson have placed themselves outside the Christian religion.

This is a day of great sadness for those who are submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, Catholic Truth, Apostolic Order and Evangelical Faith. But it is equally a call to them to unite and move forward with the proclamation of the saving and transforming love of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for your work, I had to go to church today because of Christening. I told my husband this is the last time I will ever go to this church. There were not many people there at all. I really felt sorry for the people there, especially the ones with young children.

AAC Press Release on Robinson Consecration

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - November 2, 2003

Contact: Bruce E. Mason;
202-250-0996 (cell);
bmason@americananglican.org

Today is a grievous day in the history of our Church. Heresy has been held up as Holy. Blasphemy has been redefined as blessing. The hope of the transforming love of Jesus Christ has been denied. Holy Scripture has been abandoned and sin celebrated over sanctification. The arrogance of the leaders of the Diocese of New Hampshire and the Episcopal Church is nothing less than stunning.

The world has now seen the foul fruits of "anything goes" spirituality and the leaders that have pushed it in the Episcopal Church. The Apostle Paul says:

"For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear." (2 Tim.4:35)

The time has come. Our family is now split and the whole cloth of the Anglican Communion is torn. Realignment has begun. But it is out of brokenness that God brings restoration; out of death God brings new life. Jesus died on the cross as a substitution for the very sin that
the Episcopal Church now celebrates. Jesus rose again to offer us a second chance - all of us. Therefore, we continue to earnestly pray that the Episcopal Church will repent and return to God. So many are broken in our Church and desperately in need of the healing and transforming love, and new life, that Jesus has to offer.

We stand at an incredible moment in history - a moment of profound new hope. Mainstream Anglicans in America are moving forward, secure in purpose, standing for the truth and proclaiming the Good News. So even as we grieve, we rejoice. God still reigns, just as he did yesterday and will tomorrow. God does not change. His truth is still truth. His love is still deep, and He has promised to care for His faithful children.

In the footsteps of those great Church reformers of the past, it is now our time to boldly and unashamedly take a stand for righteousness. The cost may be high, but we must not be afraid. We must hold firm, confident in our salvation and not forgetting that the vast majority of
Anglicans in the world stand with us. We are the mainstream, and the Episcopal Church has left us.

The AAC will work tirelessly to insure that Mainstream Anglicans in America have a safe place to call home. We seek a home free from harassment and persecution where the Gospel can again be proclaimed unhindered. The AAC has already developed guidelines and an application form for congregations wishing to request Adequate Episcopal Oversight.

They are posted on our website, http://www.americananglican.org/ . We are also putting into place a new network of Confessing Dioceses and Parishes that will serve as the core of the new Anglican realignment in the United States. Last Monday we met with the Canadian orthodox bishops and clergy leaders and have together created a new Conference of North American Anglican Bishops. We are making good progress, but it will take some time to put all the pieces of the realignment together.

So to all mainstream Anglicans in America we say, "Take heart! You are not alone. The AAC stands with you. The Anglican Primates stand with you. Most Christians in America share your beliefs. Two thousand years of church tradition support you. Holy Scripture supports you. You are not alone."

Please pray for the Episcopal Church, the leaders of the worldwide Anglican Communion, the AAC, and for each other. Redirect your financial giving to ministries or organizations that call Jesus Lord. "Keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry." (2 Tim. 4:35)

Ours is a future of hope. God is our strength and He will prevail. Jesus
Christ is Lord!

My heart goes out to all faithful Anglicans in this time of distress. This whole terrible charade has been very difficult to watch, even for us non-Anglicans.

May Almighty God bless and strengthen you all.

Statement on the elevation of Gene Robinson to bishop coadjutor of the New Hampshire Diocese of the Episcopal Church USA

By U.S. Newswire
Nov 3, 2003, 01:20

WASHINGTON -- The executive officers of the National Clergy Council, representing more than 5000 church leaders from Catholic, Evangelical, Orthodox and Protestant traditions, released the following statement today on the elevation of V. Gene Robinson to bishop coadjutor of the New Hampshire Diocese of the Episcopal Church USA:

"The executive officers of the National Clergy Council today express deep sadness over the actions of some bishops within the Episcopal Church to break with universal Christian moral teaching and in so doing close their doors to Christians who remain faithful to church and biblical tradition.

"We find that it is now impossible for traditional Christians to feel welcome in fellowship on any level with the radical bishops, priests and members of the Episcopal Church who condoned and participated in this supremely immoral act.

"We humbly and prayerfully call on those responsible for Mr. Robinson's elevation to acknowledge their wrongful actions, immediately undo them, repent of their sins, and reunite with the historic Christian church."

Signed:

The Rev. Rob Schenck (Evangelical Church Alliance)

The Rev. Dr. Johnny Hunter (Methodist Episcopal)

The Rev. Dr. Edwin Elliott (Reformed Presbyterian)

The Rev. Dr. David Anderson (Baptist)

The Rev. Dr. R. H. Redal (Lutheran)

I think you're right - the heretics have suddenly discovered (just like the left wing media) that none of the rest of us even pay attention to them anymore...and because of that, they don't have a clue what to do next.

The Rt. Rev. Jack Leo Iker, Bishop

NOVEMBER 2, 2003 — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Statement from the Bishop and Standing Committee
of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Rt. Rev. Jack Leo Iker and the members of the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth have released the following statement in response to the consecration today of the Rev. V. Gene Robinson as Bishop Coadjutor of the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire:

“Today’s consecration of a practicing homosexual as a bishop in New Hampshire has broken the unity of the Episcopal Church and of the worldwide Anglican Communion. It is essentially a schismatic act, and as such, has created a breach of our communion with the Diocese of New Hampshire and with those bishops who participated in the consecration. By this action, they have separated themselves from the teaching of the Anglican Communion and have broken fellowship with us. We are deeply disturbed by their callous disregard for the damage they have inflicted upon the unity and mission of the Church, both here and abroad. We declare our solidarity with those Bishops and Dioceses and those Primates and Provinces that will now move forward with a realignment of the Anglican Communion.

The Rt. Rev. Jack Leo Iker,
Third Bishop of Fort Worth

with the members of the Standing Committee:
The Very Rev. Christopher T. Cantrell
Franklin Salazar
The Very Rev. Christopher C. Stainbrook
Jo Ann Patton
The Very Rev. Ryan S. Reed
Kay Stromberg”

The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth consists of 56 congregations serving 24 north central Texas counties. The major cities in the diocese include Fort Worth, Arlington, Hurst-Euless-Bedford, Wichita Falls, Grand Prairie, Richland Hills, Brownwood, and Stephenville. The Rt. Rev. Jack L. Iker has served as the third Diocesan Bishop of Fort Worth since 1995. The diocese enjoys companion relationships with the Dioceses of Northern Malawi and Northern Mexico.

to the best of my understanding it means that at least the diocese of NH is no longer considered to be in Communion with the diocese of Ft. Worth.

The very arrogant and selfish Right Rev. V. Gene Robinson remarked "They must know that if they must leave, they will always be welcome back in our fellowship"

Well, frankly I want nothing to do with his sort of fellowship. He and those that put him there, demean the word Bishop and Episcopalians around the world. Hoo-ray for Africa.

Any fellowship or unity we had is now desecrated by this selfish man’s consecration, showing a stunning contradiction to the historic faith and discipline of the church, not to mention the Bible. God is not progressive or politically correct; God is constant.

Primate: Anglican Church in America

Anglican Church in America Stands in Solidarity with Forward in Faith , North America in Repudiating Consecration of Gay Bishop in New Hampshire

The recent consecration of a sexually active homosexual person in a long-term relationship with another man, as a Bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire, marks the culmination of a quarter-century process fracturing the union of the Episcopal Church not only with the larger unity of the Anglican Communion, but indeed with the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church as a whole.

As a member province of the Traditional Anglican Communion, The Anglican Church in America notes, and welcomes, the statement of the Council of Forward in
Faith, North America, of November 4, 2003, reaffirming its submission to the Word of God and the Tradition of the Church catholic, and stands together in solidarity with Forward in Faith, North America along with such bishops,
dioceses, primates and provinces, both within and outside of the structures of the Anglican Communion, as are prepared to move forward in a realignment of the Church in North America and of the Anglican Communion as a whole, in accordance with such principles of Scripture and Tradition..
