Let me ask you this:
Is a generation in the Bible 40 years or not?

I totally believe Daniel's 70 heptads. I believe the seventieth is still-future, and corresponds to the great tribulation period. Which is undatable, from our perspective.

And no, Biblically, a generation is not necessarily 40 years. What's more, the Greek term genea can equally mean "race."

Genesis 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
Genesis 15:14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
Genesis 15:15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.

Why forty years, indeed.

A generation can vary in years, but why should that matter?

Luke 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

What generation is this? The same as that generation:

Matthew 11:16 But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,
Matthew 11:17 And saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned unto you, and ye have not lamented.
Matthew 11:18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.
Matthew 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

"Evil, wicked, adulterous" generation comes to mind. That's the generation that sells (prostitutes) its "wisdom" in books, videos, and prophecy conferences. This generation has its reward. Even Nineveh (Mosel) will rise up and judge it.
