I think doing a ritual exactly the correct way (what ever that is) is trumping believing in Christ.:)

Jesus himself was baptised and baptism is preached throughout the New Testament so I don't believe it is just a ritual. I think that if you truly believe in Jesus you will follow Matthew 28:19 and 20
