"The Massachusetts legislature is currently considering House Bill 1641, "An Act to Provide for a Comprehensive Health Education Program in the Public Schools." The bill would make lessons on such issues as sexuality, abortion, and birth control part of the core public school curriculum. Currently, local public school committees are not required to include sexuality education in their curricula.
The bill would force every primary and secondary public school to adopt a standardized curriculum created by the Massachusetts Department of Education and backed by Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts.
This curriculum, available online, is called the Massachusetts Comprehensive Health Curriculum Framework. The framework applies from pre-kindergarten to the twelfth grade.
The standards dictate that children as young as 5 years of age, for example, would have to "Identify the components, functions, and processes of the reproductive system," "Identify the physical changes as related to the reproductive system during puberty," and "Define sexual orientation using the correct terminology (such as heterosexual, and gay and lesbian)."
Thought this was "Scrappleface." Sigh. If I were a Conservative Massachusettite...I'd be finding a home further inland.
It's probably already known here on FR, but for those who may not be aware, there is a six year old boy from Massachusetts who was expelled from school, (1st grade), for "sexual harrassment". Seems a girl poked him and he poked her back near the waistline. His got the boot from school and is now facing the police and the District Attorney. Yes, I said the District Attorney, the 'case' is in his office now. The public schools want your children.
My proposal to ban all sexual conversation between adults and non-related children, including sex ed in schools, looks better all the time.
Worst idea in history, allowing someone else to talk to your children about sex.
I say we do some pushing of our own, starting with pushing planned parent hood down some stairs.
