I don't know if it will do any good -- it seems to be an article of faith with my Jewish friends that Pius XII was a Bad Man -- but the Jewish community right after WWII was very outspoken in praise of the Pope. Golda Meir, Albert Einstein, the Chief Rabbi of Rome, and many other prominent Jews were very thankful for all Pius XII's work saving Italian Jews and smuggling them out to neutral territory. (Of course my Jewish friends say that they just "said that because they wanted the Vatican's support for Israel." Huh? So they were all liars? That is supposed to be a
good thing? This makes no sense. It's really blind hatred and not reasonable.)
What has recently come out is that the controversial play that started all the trouble (written in 1962 by the Hitler Youth son of an SS officer) was funded by the East German STASI to discredit the Church.
