Many of the previous objections to the Christian faith originate from lack of true Biblical understanding. If both the Old and New Testaments were read and studied within proper context, these questions would be answered to the objector's satisfaction.
To get a more complete understanding of the scripture in question, it's suggested that more than a single verse be read; rather, read the chapters before, current (with questionable verse), and after. For example, if chapter X, verse Y is questioned, then for clearer contextual understanding, read (very carefully) all of chapters before, current, and after.
Remember most religions compare themselves to the Christian Bible to prove their accuracy. They wouldn't consider replacing it as a reference of divine proof since many archaeologists have uncovered evidence justifying Biblical events. Further proof is reveled when the Bible is compared to other non-Biblical sources like that of Josephus IF READ IN CONTEXT!

There was once a muslim who spoke to a Christian pastor. The pastor asked him what muslim's think about Jesus Christ? He answered that they respect Him. The pastor continued and asked him why was Jesus accused? The muslim replied that it was for sedition among the Romans and blasphemy of the Jewish faith. The pastor then asked, "What was His blasphemy?" The muslim answered that Jesus Christ claimed to be God! The Christian pastor then asked if Jesus who claimed to be God would be a prophet in the kurran? The muslim said that he would not be because he was a liar or a fraud.
The Christian then posed this thought. If Jesus said He was God, you cannot simply respect Him! You must either revere Him, as the One who He actually said He was or reject Him as a fraud. You cannot MERELY respect Him for He could not be in the line of prophets. If He lied then He is not a prophet. And if He told the truth, He is God which is above and beyond all prophets! Therefore the kurran is wrong claiming He was a mere prophet!

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit" (1 Peter 3:18)
Okay...
Welcome to FR, I’d like to Acts you some questions.
/just teasing
Have you heard that Al Gore’s favorite verse is John 16:3?
Isaiah 48:12 "Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called; I am He, I am the first, I am also the last.
Revelation 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
Revelation 1:17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,
Revelation 2:8 "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life, says this:
Revelation 21:6 Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. (NASB ©1995)
“Jesus is God”
No argument here....
The Koran is wrong? Who would have guessed? Interesting argument though.
Yes, He is!
Way to hit the ground running! I usually deride a newbie’s first post just because it’s what we do around here but, without researching your links, this is a very nice start. I expect the format nazis will be here soon to tell you how you messed up something here or there but your substance is good.
Thanks and Welcome,
TB
New member, and your first (and only) post is a thread!
Saaayyy... have you ever read Acts 16:31, by any chance?
You seriously need to look up “imputation.” It means “to accuse” or “to assign responsibility.” We are saved by imputation of our sins to Christ (he takes our blame). But Christ is God. There is no imputation of God-hood to Christ, he simply is, was and always shall be God.
Yah'shua means YHvH is my salvation in the Hebrew. also see: Exodus 15:2; Psalm 18:2; Psalm 27:1; Psalm 62:1; Psalm 62:2; Psalm 62:6;Jesus is English for Iesous in the Greek from the Hebrew Yah'shua
b'SHEM Yah'shua
Psalm 62:7; Psalm 118:14; Psalm 119:174; Isaiah 12:2; Isaiah 46:13;
Isaiah 49:6; Isaiah 51:5; Isaiah 56:1; Isaiah 19:20; Isaiah 43:3;
Isaiah 43:11; Isaiah 45:21; Isaiah 49:26; Isaiah 60:16; Hosea 13:4
Personally, I reject that theory, but I could not say exactly why.
God's connection with you, is something very personal and is felt deep inside.
People can quote paragraphs from many religious books, but unless it resonates deep inside of you, then the words have no meaning.
In theology, imputation is the act of legal attribution of righteousness, guilt, etc. to a person not considered to have those qualities. Christ is God by imputation because that’s how God regards His Son. God is greater than the Son, but God regards Him equal nevertheless.
Christ is “eternally begotten, not made,” “light from light, true god from true god, one in being with the Father, by whom all things were made.” In the beginning he was with God, and he was God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
If Christ were God by imputation, that would mean that he were not God of and by his own substance. Your statement is so radical (and apostate) that I cannot find a single hit (out of all the tens of billions of web pages out there) where anyone has worded it exactly as you have.
