A while back I wrote a short pamplet called Islamic Terrorism and Muslim Terrorists: A Prayer Guide for Christians.
Now some friends have started a project called Adopt A Terrorist for Prayer. They also have a youtube video here.
I’d rather “Adopt A Terrorist for Target Practice”, thankyouverymuch.
Well, maybe you should go the that thread. ;)
I’m all for praying for them and have been for a long time.
If the idea of praying about this sounds crazy to you, read Islamic Terrorism and Muslims Terrorists: A Prayer Guide for Christians.
If it still doesn't make sense to you, then you are on the wrong thread indeed.
How about the ancient prayer for the Jews that just got tossed out after so much controversy? No point letting it go to waste:
“Almighty and everlasting God... hear our prayers which we offer for the blindness of that people: that acknowledging the light of Thy truth, which is Christ, they may be rescued from their darkness.”
May God bless and keep Al Qaeda...far away from us.
The greatest thing we can do for the ROP and the world that is threatened by them. ;-)
The prayer sounds good but I’m not familiar with the controversy that led to it being “tossed out.” Do you have a link where I can get more info?
This is a Catholic thing that went on over many months, let me try to summarize and give you a link, that will go to more links if you’re interested.
For many centuries, an infrequently-used but never abrogated series of prayers was said on Good Friday by Catholics for many groups of people, including the Jews. The head of the Jewish Anti-Defamation League formally objected to the Vatican that the prayer was demeaning to Jews.
After very careful consultation, and wild speculation and inaccuracies in the press about Catholicism (so make sure any articles you read are from reliable Catholic sources), Pope Benedict rewrote the prayer to remove the somewhat “medieval” language that could be interpreted by some as condescending to the Jews.
This gives short story with links to the old and new versions of the “prayer for the Jews”:
Just pinging 2 Freepers who are quite expert on Catholic topics in the news, in case they wish to add anything. Thanks.
Me, too.
Me too. In fact, I pray for the conversion of ALL the muslims - not just the terrorists. With God, nothing is impossible, after all! :-)

Thank you for posting this.
You're welcome. It's good to find people who understand the spiritual nature of the battle, in other words, spiritual warfare.
I"ve been with former Muslims (and heard of many, many more) who have come to faith in Christ. In some cases they were on their way or actually involved in violent jihad.
The motivations of the jihadist are both idealogical and spiritual (i.e. of the god of this world, see I Cor. 4:4 and Eph. 6:12).
See my post # 17 above.
