Would be interested in any effective refuting comments from conservative new calendarists; I believe ecumenism is heresy, though there is no longer one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic church in the way the Nicene Creed means it.

Since the Great Church no longer exists (in its full-fledged form), it is especially important not to keep communion with heretics -- for the preservation of doctrines and rites --, and it remains important as ever not to change the date of the Ascension or of the Virgin Birth.

Wow, the bar of heresy sure has dropped low. What’s next, the color of a monk’s robes being considered heresy?

“Christ is Risen!” But when? Did he kindly rise twice, knowing that we would eventually be on different calendars? Such a theory would outdo Nestorianism in sheer heresy.

Then there is the problem of consorting with Papists, followers of “Liberation Theology” (i.e. Marxism), Pentecostalists, and all other sorts of questionable “Christians”.

The WCC was — and probably is — thoroughly infiltrated and deeply influenced by the KGB, so ecumenism in practice cannot be trustworthy. (Witness the Mitrokhin Archive).

I do not suggest that Christians should be on bad terms with each other. Particularly with Calvinists — who share a commitment to the Fathers, especially to St. Paul of Blessed Memory —, the Orthodox should have friendly relations.

But I fear ecumenism will sink the boat; sorry.

Oh, I don't know about that. Plenty of "useful idiots," though...

No, its’ worse than that: The founding of the WCC was prompted and funded by the KGB.

I’m not sure how to parse this. Normally, I’d read that as a list with four items, but I’m tempted to read it as one item, an aside, and two more items: “Liberation theology” is a term used to describe “the social gospel” heresy as promoted by Catholic heretics.

So I’m going to point out that Liberation Theology has been officially suppressed as a heresy. Meanwhile, there is plenty of other forms of leftism rampant in Roman and Orthodox churches.
