What, you might ask, were these guys doing in the OSS, the predecessor to the CIA? Well, just keep in mind that FDR was running the show back then, with his Communist sympathies and friends, and Hitler was invariably defined as a “rightest” or a “conservative,” although that was clearly untrue. When I was a child I believed it myself, and only came to understand what “National Socialism” meant much later.

Either they were too stupid and hired native German-speakers indiscriminately or the ideological distance between the fellow travelers in FDR’s administration and the Frankfurtians was not that far. Now it’s almost impossible to pass through a university without coming into contact with Frankfurt Critical theory and Cultural Marxists. And the current president is a product of Columbia University, Alinksy theory, and George Soros.
